The Ryan Shealy pickup made me look like a genius today. He went 3-4 with a solo home run and clutch double. He drove in a run and scored 2. He has been doing great for us so far this year. Shawn Chacon made his second start of the year after he fractured his skull. He's 2-0 now and should be able to take over Chien-Ming Wang's spot. I want more days like this in our 2007 future.

I was suspended for the next 4 games thanks to a bump to the home plate umpire. I wasn't even paying attention to who it was. So I'm gonna be sitting in the stands for the next 4 games as we take on the Detroit Tigers. We lost tonight's game 7-1 and are 15 below .500. We need to turn this around quickly. Maybe Don Mattingly will be a good manager for us during the next 4 games.

After my stunt in my last game managing, George Steinbrenner has decided to fire me. My days as a New York Yankee manager are over. I will be looking for a new job next season with another team. I am really disappointed with myself. I wanted to help this team out and help them win, and it seems like i did neither. I'm going to finish this season out as a fan and then come back next season with another team if there are any open spots. I would like to thank the Yankees' staff, players, and fans for the way they have treated me over the last three weeks. It had been a great first experience as a manager.

:( Too bad the boss fired you, you were a good manager.

I thought so to, they just weren't playing up to their expectations in my opinion. I take blame on that cause I must not have had them prepared for each game.

Houston Astros and Frank Duffy agree to a 2 year deal.

Houston, Minute Maid Park. This should be fun! Last year, these Houston Astros won 92 games. They were only 3 games behind in the Wild Card and were eliminated by the New York Mets. 2007 was another exciting year. We saw a big record broken, a surprising Minnesota Twins team win 109 games, and the New York Yankees stunning collapse. That was mainly my fault though.

Barry Bonds broke the all-time home run record and is now at 780 home runs. As of now, he has not failed a drug test, so the record isn't tainted as of yet. Bonds also moved up to 3rd all time in RBI's, passing Lou Gherig who had 1995. Bonds is currently at 2035. Ken Griffey Jr. is 4 home runs away from 600, and is 64 behind Willie Mays. Gary Sheffield hit his 500th home run in a Cleveland Indians uniform, and Alex Rodriguez is only 8 away from 500.

The Minnesota Twins were the big surprise of 2007, as no one pictured them winning 109 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers won 106 games. The two faced each other in the World Series. The Dodgers took the series 4-2. All the moves they made in the 2006 offseason pulled off to work for the Bums.

Will we see more things like this happen in 2008? I hope so and hopefully I can help the Houston Astros win the World Series!

How was Ichiro not a top free agent?

Its weird, the game has him rated an 81, lol. He still puts up numbers if he was rated 95 though. Bobby Abreu is rated 83, but Hunter Pence is a 96, thats one I dont get.

I just came across this - I like the idea of using Mogul instead of MVP. Good job sticking with it so far and good luck with the rest of it :D

Thanks a lot SF! It should be fun managing these Astros now, and its shaping out to become a really good team. Ichiro, Teixeira, and Rickie Weeks should help us out a lot.

Welcome to Houston Ichiro Suzuki! He was huge for us tonight, going 3-5 with a double, triple and a home run. He was a single away from the cycle but unfortunatley, he didn't get it. He had a great day for us. Andy Pettitte went 7.2 innings giving up 4 runs. All 4 Cincinnati runs were scored in the top of the eigth inning. I could finally say I've managed a team with a winning record, as the Yankees never reached above .500 last year.

Roy Oswalt was brilliant tonight, throwing a complete game giving up only 1 run. Our offense was able to score 3 thanks to a Rickie Weeks homer, and Eli Iorg double. We're now 2-0 and it's been a while since I could say I've won two straight games.

Jason Hirsh pitched well for us tonight, going 6 innings giving up 1 run. We were not able to score enough though and lost the game 4-1. Besides Ichiro's 4 hit game, there were only 2 hits from the other 8 spots in the lineup. Tonight felt like one of those dreadful Yankee games from last year.
