Our pitching stunk tonight. Fernando Nieve went 5 innings, giving up 5 earned runs. In the eight and ninth innings, Taylor Bunchholz got shelled, giving up 11 hits and 8 earned runs in 2 innings of work. This caused us to lose 17-8. Lance Berkman had a 4-5 night, raising his batting average up to .375. Teixeira had a 2-4 night, raising his to .267. Hunter Pence will be out 2 weeks with a sprained ankle so Eli Iorg will be seeing a lot more playing time for now.

Mark Teixeira had his first MVP-like game for us today. He went 3-5 with a double and big home run. He drove in 3 RBI's as we won 8-4 and were able to maintain a streak of 5 games at or above .500. I'm expecting our team to make the playoffs and go far into them this year.

Another high scoring affair between us in the Nationals today. We were able to score another 13 runs tonight. The Nationals only scored 5 but had 11 hits. Some of the batting averages on our team are unbelievable after the first 7 games. Berkman is at .448, Suzuki is at .452, Willy Taveras is at .429. Rickie Weeks has a 0-6 night and his batting average dropped to .219. It's still early but lets see if we can keep this up.

We lost the series. Today we lost 5-8 in another high scoring game. D'Angelo Jimenez went 3-4 with a double and three RBI's. He was the difference in the game today. We're back at even and 1.0 game behind the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. It's too early to be worrying about the playoffs though, we just need to win ballgames.

We lost the series opener. Today we lost 5-6 in one of Andy Pettitte's not so great pitching performances. Albert Pujols went 2-5 with his sixth home run of the year. This is our first time below .500 this year and are 2.0 games behind the Pirates and Cardinals for first.

I really enjoy this dynasty... but in what world does Pujols bat 4th, behind Haerther (who in real life may NEVER reach the bigs)? :)

I know it's not you - it's the simulation engine. :)

Yeah, I'm considering getting rid of this and having some real fun, Baseball Mogul 1901
