Back from foolish 2K7 Sabbatical

I submitted to the sirens song of the flashy graphics and next-gen excitement of MLB 2K7 for Xbox 360, even going so far as to buy the 360 *just* to be able to play the 2K7 game. I put MVP on the shelf at that point, and stopped visiting this site. A few notes:

First of all, there is NO community like this one for 2K7. This is hands down the best baseball gaming community, bar none.

Next, the first couple of months of 2K7 were a bit rough. They released the game incomplete, and it wasn't until July 1st that a patch was released that added the batting and fielding views that I liked. Still, I soldiered on, playing most of the 162 games of my season. I missed terribly the utilities for MVP, such as the Box Score extractor, and save reader (among many others), but found that 2K7 was still overall fun to play.

Then, the big problem. Many of you may know that 2K7 has a feature that baseball gaming fans have long been wishing for: games being played at different times and in the background, so you can see the scores of other games progress in the background as you play your game. Cool enough idea, but it causes the mother of all crashes if your team finishes the season playing an afternoon game on the east coast. Since the west coast teams haven't played their games yet, you cannot advance to the post season. You can only force games for your own team to be played/managed/simulated, so you are screwed. Trying to advance the schedule to October causes the Xbox system to crash and it needs to be restarted.

Some folks, even one from Kush (the developer of 2K7) posted "work-around" fixes that were noted to not work for all users. Unfortunately, I am one of those users who cannot get around the problem.

So, I find myself with a $400 game system and $60 game that are basically unusable now (I don't play any other games than baseball), and am going to return to where I never should have left - playing MVP 05 on my PC.

I realize this is getting long, but I'd like to appeal to the community here for some guidance. I've browsed through the forum here a bit, but it's difficult to really digest the hundreds and hundreds of posts made since I stopped visiting last March. My question is, what things have been developed by the awesome mod community here over the course of this baseball season that you would recommend for me? I'm going to start a dynasty at the beginning of the 2007 season. I have the look/feel (overlays, etc) tweaked to my liking, so what I'm really wanting to know is the most recomended roster set, and any and all other "must have's" that have come out over the past few months (I saw that rich's sav reader program has been updated -- AWESOME!).

Thanks in advance for your help!

First of all, welcome back.

I am assuming you have the Mvp baseball 2007 mod that has been released? If not, get that first. Then, an update to that has been released, an updated models.big that you will find for download here. (You got a lot of downloading to do, let me put it this way. )

A lot -and I mean a lot- of stadiums have been updated since the release of the 07 mod. You can thank people like Pirate, Chicago Cubs 720 (for Wrigley) and many others. Also, some classic stadiums have been released. How would you like to play in the classic Comiskey Park? Well, that's done. SeanO and PaulW are artists.

There's a new utility that is a must-have, it's called the TiT, or the Total Installer Thingy made by some guy named Krawhitham. Maybe you heard of him.

In other words, you got a lot to do.
