RIP "Scooter". This is truly sad. One of the greats from a more simple time in the sports world. I hope that the Yankees will have a nice ceremony for him. God bless him and his family.

R.I.P Mr. Rizzuto. You brought many smiles and laughs to me growing up as a boy listening to you and Frank Messer and Bill White doing the Yankee games on radio and TV. Those three were my favorite announcers doing the Yankee games. Rizzuto was always exciting and I have many fond memories of him to this day. R.I.P :(

They used to switch back and forth between TV and radio every few innings.

When Rizzuto went to the "radio side" I would lower the volume on the TV and turn on the radio to listen to him, then back to the TV again when Phil returned.

Read about this while on holiday. R.I.P. Scooter. He may only have been 5'6", but I'd bet he had more love for baseball in that frame that a lot of other players have in their much larger bodies.

"Holy Cow!"

Take a look at NYPOST website they can't even put the correct age for one of the great Yankees. 90 year old???

http://www.nypost.com/seven/08142007/sport...89_yankees_.htm

Technically he past away at 89 because his birthday on Sept. 25, 1917.

I will miss him very much. R.I.P

If you read today's NY Times, you'll figure out he actually was 90.
