Doesn't anyone proof-read anymore?

I guess I'm not missing much by not having XM.

Apparently we ALL missed the alternative history of baseball: The one in which either (A) Hank Aaron never existed or (B) He didn't hit for power.

Anyone who has listened to the XM baseball channel will not be in the least surprised. These are the people who think Rob Dibble and Kevin Kennedy should be allowed to speak about baseball for 3 hours a day. The last time I put Home Plate on, I heard "clogging the bases" within 5 minutes and turned to XMU. Just horrible.

waht is poorfraed?

World according to HomePlate:

Hank Aaron never passed Babe Ruth for the record. Michael Jordan never played in the NBA. Michael Vick is in contention of Time Magazine's Person of the Year. And the real Iron Man is still Lou Gehrig.

Cal Ripken, Jr., the legendary Baltimore Orioles shortstop and record holder for most consecutive games played ...

Oh, wait! I guess they do some proofreading after all. BTW, their error about the Babe is still up. I would like to know how long they will go before fixing it. Odds on a month start at 7 to 1. LOL

Well, last night, the clip of Grady Sizemore's HR on the top plays for that game linked to the A-rod play from the same day where someone shot onw down the line off his glove.

But, yeah, I love mlb.com. Good times.

Sadly enough, the BBC made this error as well. I checked BBC.co.uk at work during lunchtime and found this article, but it stated that he would be overtaking Babe Ruth on the home run list. I noted this, as well as the time and date of the "Last updated" section at the top of the page. Came home, checked the page, and what happens? They update the page, this time with the correct information giving Hank Aaron his rightful status in the record books, and didn't bother updating the "Last updated" section of the page.

I think in XM's case it was probably just a mistake, but the BBC one was more than likely due to the fact that they don't have the first clue about baseball. Given that their main headline for the baseball page uses the term "sending-off", a term commonly used in soccer/football to highlight Bobby Cox's ejection record, it's a good idea to avoid BBC.co.uk for any baseball news you may be looking for.
