all my games crash to windows

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you ever had this problem, and knew some way to fix it.

I recently had problems with my graphics card, and I put in a new one. Ever since I did that, all my games crash in the middle of playing. I also installed PCcillin AV software. Im thinking it has something to do with the AV software, because even when I turn it off, it still runs in processes. I have to manually turn it off there, so I can run my games, but still, the games crash to desktop.

I installed the updated drivers from nvidia, but no effect. I have a dynasty going, that I cant play, because when I finish a game and do box score generator and then quit, it freezes on the simulator bar just after it, and I have to manually turn off my computer, which really starting to bite my rear, if you know what Im saying.

So any help would be greatly appreciated, and I hope this thread is in the right spot.

note that my computer isnt the best and my graphics card is a geforce fx 5200 pci I know it sucks, but its all I have right now, until i can get a newer model PC. All the games I play are compatible, so its not the games as far as memory and work load. I have a gig memory as well, so thats not a problem, but may be corrupted as a friend told me, but it seems to check out when I troubleshoot it.

try reinstalling your games as it's likely a conflict with your game drivers (which run on the old driver for your old card) against your new graphics card which is running new and different drivers... try that, see if it works.

What type of graphics card did you replace with the new one? Did you delete the old drivers? When I replaced my Nvidia card with an ATI card a few years ago, it was suggested that I remove all my Nvidia drivers.

Having multiple drivers (or pieces of drivers), especially from multiple companies, can cause problems. After removing the old drivers with through the Control Panel, I used a utility called DriverCleaner to get rid of all traces of my Nvidia drivers. You can get DriverCleaner here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

Also, depending upon how old your card is, the latest drivers might not necessarily be the best performing drivers for your card. Go to a site like http://www.guru3d.com/ and look through the Nvidia forums. There are usually plenty of "What is the best driver for my video card" posts and some have detailed explanations of which drivers work best for certain cards.

Good luck.
