Borgi
Jesus Montero hit a magnificent 0-2 count solo shot down one run in the top of the ninth to tie the game. This was thought to be the kind of HR that gets a time a victory, but Joba Chamberlin was unable to hold the tie as he blew it later in the game. Homer Bailey pitched pretty well, but not well enough. It was a very tough loss, but look for Clayton Kershaw to pitch well tommorow. Box Score http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores//us...sox5x3/DET7.htm An early homerun by Alex Gordon Jacoby Ellsbury jogging in after a nice inning If this was gone, I would have won this game...darn Check out the inning, score, outs, and the count. Borgi
BOX SCORE http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores//us...sox5x3/DET8.htm Clayton Kershaw was scratched from his start after his girlfriend gave birth to a baby girl and Clay Bucholtz came and stepped in with an absolute GEM. Clay pitched a complete game shutout for the Tigers to get a two zip victory. Clayton Kershaw was reached via phone after the game to say his baby is fine, while he said he was pumped for Clay to pitch a gem like that. Clayton is not expected to be with the team until his next scheduled start, in 5 games. A game where Jim Leyland was nearly ejected turned into a great win for the kids. Chris Parmelee hit a nice solo shot, while Fernando Martinez and Jacoby Ellsbury continue to hit everything possible. Borgi
If youd of told me the final score of the game was going to be 10 to 1 in the top of the ninth I'd of told you that your crazy. Trailing 1 to nothing in the top of the ninth, the young Tigers rallied for 10 runs! They hadn't scored ten runs all season in a game, and they did it in one inning. Timely hitting, and Alex Gordon grand slam, and some good baserunning led to 10 runs. The Orioles bullpen imploded. Dellin Betances pitched great, and Joba Chamberlin came outta the bullpen to take the win. Miguel Tejada had the only offense of the game with a solo shot, but then the ninth came and the young Tigers came alive. The box score of this wild win can be viewed here http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores//us...sox5x3/DET9.htm Jesus Montero up in the early ninth, a one to one game with one out. My how the score changed so quickly! Alex Gordon hits an absolute bomb of a grand slam to center field. Joba Chamberlin celebrates after the nice win. Joba is the fireman! Borgi
Phillip Hughes mastery continues, as his era is down to 0.45 and he improved to 3 and 0. He went 8 strong innings, and Joakim Soria got a save in the ninth. Alex Gordon continues his power surge with his fifth, a solo shot that was all they needed as the Tigers won 1 to 0 against Dustin McGowan and the Blue Jays. Box Score- http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores//us...ox5x3/DET10.htm Photos Jim Leyland got ejected arguing over Jacoby Ellsbury being called out at first. A great play by Justin Upton on a hard hit ground ball, full extension. The only runs needed, a solo shot by Alex Gordon.
Borgi
This series against the Blue Jays is getting very interesting. Roy Halladay hit Evan Longoria in the eighth inning and Longoria felt it was intentional, as he charged the hill. He was ejected, but no one else was. Homer Bailey began the bottom half of the eight getting an out, than plunked Alex Rios sparking more of a feud. Bailey was ejected but Rios did not charge. Alex Gordon had the last laugh again as he homered in the ninth inning to ice the game, a six to two win. Joba Chamberlin pitched lights out again in the pen, working that fireman role. Jim Leyland had no comment on the bench clearing brawl, but you have to think if these teams meet again soon, there will be more hitting. Clayton Kershaw goes tommorow after missing his last start due to the birth of his new baby daughter. Kershaw told me he will be pitching with a heavy heart, and this game will be dedicated to his baby girl named Emma. Clayton hasn't pitched in 11 days. Borgi
The fireman couldn't prolong the game, as the Blue Jays won on a walkoff double in the bottom of the ninth. It was a great pitchers duel by new father Clayton Kershaw and Nasty Stuff A.J Burnett. Alex Gordon continues to be the only hitter on this team, adding another home run, but yet again a solo shot. He really needs to have guys on when he goes yard. He also had a fantastic play in the field, but his play was not enough to win. Justin Upton suffered a minor injury and is out for 5 days. The bitter hate between the two teams surfaced momentarily when Kershaw hit back to back batters in the seventh, but no ejections happened. The young Tigers end the series in Toronto tomorrow couldn't be happier to get outta there. Jacoby Ellsbury told me there pitching staff is just plain filthy! Borgi
WOW...what a fantastic game. Down 4 to 0 in the top of the ninth inning the young Tigers battled back with a 3 run home run by the struggling Evan Longoria and then an RBI triiple by Alex Gordon later to drive in the tying run. Clay Bucholtz pitched less than stellar, and all hope seemed to be lost as Gustavo Chacin mowed them down. Carlos Gomez led off with a single, then Jose Tabata singled. Evan Longoria stepped up and mashed one out. Alex Gordon is looking like the MVP this season, making another gem in the field, and the game tying triple. It took 15 inning before this one was over though. Jesus Montero stepped up with a man on the drive in the winning run in the 15th. Joakim Soria closed out the fantastic win. The Blue Jays bullpen has been killer this series, costing them nearly every game they played. Franklin Morales pitched lights out of the pen for the win. BOX SCORE- http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores//us...ox5x3/DET13.htm GAME PHOTOS Alex Gordon is MVP and Gold Glove with another Fab play The so far awful Evan Longoria redeemed himself with this HUGE three run bomb! Borgi
The bats came alive against Jorge de la Rosa, who was masterful the last time he faced the baby Tigers. They touched him for six early runs, three coming from another bomb by Alex Gordon, who must be getting MVP consideration right now. Dellin Betances was lousy to say the least, but good enough to win the ball game. Franklin Morales has yet to let up a run, and worked a good inning outta the pen. Elvis Andrus continues his wizardry in the field with a great play off a Mike Sweeney hit. This was the first home game in seven games, which felt good for the Baby Tigers. Coverage of the game is limited due to a power outage at ESPN. Borgi
Philip Hughes is officially filthy! His ERA after four starts is 0.32! The baby Tigers took a nice 3 to nothing win against the Royals. Fernando Martinez provided the only offense needed with a three run dinger with Alex Gordon and Jacoby Ellsbury on base. Gordon just missed another home run late in the game hooking the foul pole. Joakim Soria got the save in the ninth. Billy Rowell had a nice hit just down the line that is our highlight of the night. Jacoby Ellsbury added another couple hits, extending his season long hit streak to 16 games, hitting in all of them. He had a big double which was the highlight of the next coming up in the ESPN broadcast. Alex Gordon had a nice hit also, along with Fernando Martinez.
