stecropper
COMING SOON: Total Classics 1964 In the National League: The Philadelphia Phillies were leading the pack by 6 ½ games with a mere 2 weeks remaining. It was enough of a lead for the Phillies front office to give the Philadelphia printers the Go-Ahead to ink up their presses for the first time in 14 years and print Phillies World Series tickets. But the imprint of Philadelphia Phillies on the World Series ticket wasn’t to be, as the Phillies dropped 10 in a row allowing the Cardinals, Reds, and Giants to climb back into contention in the final week. When the dust finally settled, the Phillies and the Reds found themselves staring at the pennant flag flying over Busch Stadium by a scant one-game margin. Many attributed the Cards late surge to the June acquisition of Lou Brock who hit a robust .348 the rest of the way. 1) The Reds finished 2nd with their chief horses being outfielders Frank Robinson & Vada Pinson. 2) The disappointed Phillies were spearheaded by Johnny Callison, rookie 3rd baseman Richie Allen, and pitching aces Jim Bunning & Chris Short. 3) The Pirates Roberto Clemente won the batting title with a .339 mark. 4) The Giants Willie Mays led in home runs with 47 and had a fearsome set of slugging teammates in Orlando Cepeda, Jim Ray Hart & Willie McCovey. 5) The Braves had 5 players hitting 20+ homers in Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Joe Torre, Rico Carty & Denis Menke but finished 5 games off the pace. In the American League: Yogi Berra was rewarded for his 14 years of service and popularity by being named field boss of the Bronx Bombers. It was a move the front office in the Bronx soon regretted, as Yogi proved more popular with the players than respected by them. The result was that in August, the Yankees found themselves in 3rd place behind Baltimore & Chicago. But then came the infamous Phil Linz playing his harmonica on the team bus after a Yankee defeat which Yogi took strong exception to. Suddenly a heated shouting match ensued between them. Yogi’s authority was rekindled as the Yankees were spurred to a 22-6 September and clinching of the pennant on the next-to-last day of the season. 1) The White Sox made their challenge with a host of good pitching. Gary Peters, Juan Pizarro, & Joel Horlen formed the Big Three which carried an offense boasting of only one power threat, Pete Ward. 2) The Orioles attack packed a wallop in the form of the league’s MVP, Brooks Robinson, and Boog Powell, the Bird’s home run leader with 39. Their hill staff featured 19-year-old Wally Bunker who won 19 & posted an impressive 2.69 E.R.A. 3) The Twins had the league’s batting champ in rookie Tony Oliva at a .323 clip and the home run leader in Harmon Killebrew blasting out 49 trippers but finished well off the pace. 4) The Angels made a 1st Division run on the arm of Dean Chance, who won the Cy Young Award with 20 wins and a 1.65 E.R.A. Yes, it was a Special Year in Baseball in 1964 as well as across America as “ The Times They Were A Changin’ †and “ The Invasion of the Beatles †had begun. -------------------------------------------

stecropper
Fred --- "Takes me to a time I wish I'd been around to see" ...... That means a great deal to me and a really big reason we spend these endless number of hours bringing these to Life !!! Of course, we enjoy them a Great Deal ourselves ---- when we find the time ! I think you will really enjoy TC64 and eventually we will also enhance TC61* & TC67 to have some of the features we have learnt since releasing those. But TC56 & TC69 along with 1988 are not too far down the road either to enjoy !!! Ain't this GRAND !!! NO, it's IOWA !!! Thanks Fred, Don
redsox
Don, thanks to you and other TC modders for creating these segments. These total conversion mods that have been put out are really a thing of beauty and I just can't wait give this one a try. I have been having a blast with TC67 and am very much looking forward to that same gameplay in TC64. Thank you again to you, Fuzzone, and others who are involved in creating these TC. Great job as always!

Yankee4Life
I have one major problem with this stecropper. How am I going to convince my wife I need a new computer with a huge hard drive just for one game?
stecropper
Yankee4life, I had that same exact problem and just couldn't seem to ever convince her. Then I thought this whole thing out with logic --- what's more important --- then I immediately rushed out and bought a new computer solely for MVP Baseball 2005 and all those wonderful Classic Mods !!! That's the only advice I can offer !!! Take Care, Don
68tigerfan
May I Just say these Classics mods are great and bring back alot of fond memories. I was playing the 64 today and took as my team The Detroit Tigers the only thing I noticed was Bill Freehan's face is quite a jumble just thought I'd let you know so you can fix it. Thanks again for another great mod 68tigerfan :readingxxx:
stecropper
68tigerfan, Thanks for the insight. Freehan is one of those last minute faces we changed but from my system and several others systems his face seems to be fine in the game. Was it one of those green and red faces? If so then that is an occurrence that happens on occassion but not each and every time. Please let me know what you are seeing and we will see if we can help correct it for you as well as others that might be experiencing that same thing. Thanks, Don
stecropper
68tigerfan, Just realized that Bill Freehan was mentioned in this TC64 thread: http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=31553.html Perhaps that is causing your problem because of your specific video card? Check it out and let me know.
68tigerfan
stecropper Thanks for your quick reply. What I'am seeing is a brown streak down the middle and his face is on the right and left side of the head. Hope this helps. I Have an Intel 82845g gl ge pe gv graphics controller. Read the thread on the fix for Freehand face 04 how do I change the flag to no. Thanks 68tigerfan
stecropper
68tigerfan, That is the problem with the "04 Flag" not being set properly on some video cards. So setting it correctly will very likely take care of that problem. Easiest way to set it is by using MVPEdit. Are you familiar with MVPEdit? Those "04 Flag" being set wrong were due to some of those very last minute changes we made and that mistake slipped by us. I apologize for that but we certainly can fix it. 68tigerfan
stecropper Thanks for the reply. Just Play again and set the player detail to high and that took care of the problem. Freehans face just goes crazy in low and medium mode. Also I'am not complaining my hat goes off to you guys who take all this time and effort to keep MVP Baseball alive with your kick butt Classic game modes. I Just wish I had that kind of talent. Keep Them Classics Coming 68tigerfan
stecropper
68tigerfan, Yep, that should have done it as we typically only see that incorrect flag setting causing a problem on some of the lower end type video cards or in your case when player detail is set to low. Glad it worked out so well for you. Please keep in touch and I hope you enjoy the game.
golfguy10
I searched the forums and didn't see any hits on this topic. I installed TC64 on a fresh install of MVP 2005 with patches 1-4 installed. The game installed with no errors. I started a Reds dynasty and when loading the first game it loads about 50% of the way then stalls. Looking at process explorer MVP2005 is not responding and running at 100% CPU. Any ideas? Thanks. golfguy10
Never mind - no profile loaded. unlocked the older stadiums and off it went. Great mod!
golfguy10
I see a pretty serious stutter on throws to 1st, winding up the pitch meter, running etc. Is the stutter fix originally released for MVP 06 a possible solution for TC64?
stecropper
golfguy10, I am not one to answer that stuttering question since I don't ever actually play the game (I'm solely a CPU vs CPU type guy) but likely one of the other guys will answer that. I never heard any of them mention it through their testing however. But I would suggest that you try that MVP06 fix you mentioned and let us know if it fixes it since I am sure others might be experiencing it as well. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. tebjr
I don't ever actually play the game (I'm solely a CPU vs CPU type guy) I used to play the game quite often, but now this is my favorite way to watch the game.
golfguy10
I played around with various settings and all to no avail. MVP07 plays fine TC64 has a stutter very close to how MVP 06 did out of the shoot. Unfortunately I can't find Kraw's compression utility he releases when 06 was squawking. I mat try a complete MVP uninstall - all copies and install MVP 07 raw and load patches 1& 2 only. Fresh install of of 64 and let er rip. I'm open to all ideas. stecropper
golfguy10, I would think you might have a higher degree of probability for success if you reinstall MVP 2005 and install TC64 over it rather than MVP 07. Just a thought - Good Luck & keep us informed with your success or lack there of and we will assist in anyway we can, Don

Just a thought - Good Luck & keep us informed with your success or lack there of and we will assist in anyway we can, DonI agree. I always have a fresh install of the original game laying around in a folder, and I just copy it over to the EASPORTS folder whenever I am installing any of these total classics mods. Also, for me, the game did not install when I had added EA's official patches 3 and 5 (Don could possibly confirm this). So I left them out and installed the TC and it works fine. I had to do the same when installing Total Classics Phase 7. Hope you get it to work golfguy10 as this is a really sweet conversion mod. Take care.
