Fall Movie Preivew

Well, I gotta say, I'm a huge movie buff, and some films that are set to be released later this year have really got me hyped up. Here's a list of movies I'm seeing for sure:

Balls of Fury

Death Sentence

3:10 To Yuma

Shoot 'em Up

Eastern Promises

Into the Wild

Grace Is Gone

Michael Clayton

Sleuth

American Gangster

Fred Claus

And what is quite possibly the best of them all:

No Country for Old Men

There's a ton more I want to see. A few of these movies I'll see before their release date. I'm going to the Toronto International Film Festival for my first time and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm seeing Michael Clayton and Sleuth there for sure and possible a few others.

Anyone else as big a movie geek as me? Post the movies you want to see.

NOTE: Links take you to the film's IMDB page.

I look forward to seeing American Gangster and Shoot Em Up. Clive's in that one, so it's gotta be good!

Have you seen the BMW Short Films with Clive Owen? They're all on youtube. pretty neat stuff. Also, Children of Men is definitely in the Top Five movies of 2006.

I am not a huge horror fan, but I had the opportunity to see an Rob Zonbie's "Halloween" remake.

...What a mess!

Although, I like how he tries to lay the groundwork for why Michael Myers is the way he is, it is all far to cliche.

Myers, as an adult, doesn't even show up until about 50-60 minutes into the movie.

I was very disappointed. I enjoyed Corpses, and Devil's Rejects for what they were, but I would suggest avoiding Halloween at all costs.

As for the fall movies, 3:10 To Yuma looks amazing, as does American Gangster.

Children Of Men was by far one of the top movies of 2006. It was a classic!

"why do people love drama movies that are boring and last 2 hrs

LOL. The reason people love a good drama is becuase it has a larger impact on the audience than any other genre. An effective drama can impart a cathartic effect like no other genre of film.

I'm most looking forward to the following:

No Country For Old Men (Love McCarthy. Love the Coens.)

The Darjeeling Limited (Sad about Owen though.)

3:10 to Yuma (I hope it brings back the western as a viable film genre.)

Walk Hard (Can't explain this one. I just wanna see it.)

Be Kind, Please Rewind (This movie looks like a work of genius.)

Coens are two of the greatest people in Hollywood. Everything I've seen by them I've loved, except for Lady Killers :) Millers Crossing and Raising Arizona are two of my favourite movies.

Darjeeling looks like it'll be good (and funny) but it also looked like they're trying to garner the same attention Little Miss Sunshine got.

Be Kind, Please Rewind was a short film made 10 years ago. I think you mean Be Kind Rewind :)

Indeed. Thanks for the correction!

Ladykillers was really lame. I don't know why they bothered making it, having had no hand in the writing process from what I remember.

And I've been a fan of Wes Anderson since 1999, so I think it's sort of the opposite -- Little Miss Sunshine was trying to garner the same attention that Rushmore (and Tenenbaums) got.

Good Call, I missed that, I loved Tenenbaums. I did however hate A Life Aquatic.

So my plans to go to TIFF got all messed up. Everything I wanted to see got sold out except for Michael Clayton, but thats a forty dollar ticket and I don't have that much money lol.
