I was Wondering(hehehe Description) if there was a way to recreate the Gyro Ball for example :What Pitch(e.g. Screwball) Movement(12-6) Maybe Velocity or something. GoRedSox34 Posted August 30, 2007 Share Posted August 30, 2007 Gryoballs do exist. They just don't really have a lot of movement so you couldn't really make it like a screwball. It has a special spin on it so when batters hit it, it will go off their bat almost backwards. Daisuke Matsuzaka actually does not throw a Gryroball right now, but he said he is going to make an attempt to learn it in the offseason. SESbb30 Posted August 31, 2007 Share Posted August 31, 2007 what you are describing is dice-k's change-up, which joe morgan said was his "gyroball". if i were going to make it, id prolly make it a splitter with 50-65 movement with an 11-5 trajectory for righties. and make it 4-5 mph slower than the fastball.
