Take 2 making a long awaited baseball game return to the PC?

Hey guys,

I just read in the shout box that take-two is making a baseball title for the PC next year? I googled it and could not find anything that was definitive. If someone could post the link I would be grateful. I believe Sean O was the one mentioning this. Thanks...

Sean O: MLB 2k7: the show looks really good, is it worth making a belated move to PS2 from PC, even with the take-two game coming out for PC next year?

krawhitham mentioned a 2k8 being made in these forums. Being ultra skeptical like the kid that found out there is no Santa, I searched the net for 2K8 and found that it will be true.

Previews don't usually come out until January, but there are rare instances where previews come out in late December. So look for no news to come out until you're done sipping your egg nog. Happy Labor Day all.

This may be interesting...or it'll be all out garbage...can never tell with Take Two.

Yeah, but DJ, look at it this way. How did you like this game (Mvp 05) right out of the box without any mods? The stadiums were bland, the rosters were out of date by the time we got the game, etc. These guys can improve anything that comes out of Take Two.

Again, I beg to differ because, well, to be honest, almost all of the utilities provided to mod anything from MVP Baseball are derived from programs that were primarily designed for EA games. It would take quite some time to really "hack" the 2K game so to speak, and that means a fsckton of reverse-engineering.

Y4L, you're a High Heat veteran, if I remember clearly, it is like the time when HH2004 switched to Renderware for their graphics engine and all of the previous editors were not compatible...after a while DangerZ eventually reverse engineered the graphics files and voila, it was possible to edit uniforms and stadiums for HH2004, although the result of extracting the textures came out upside down.

Not saying it's not possible but it will take quite a while.

I think Kraw said something along the lines that Brinkman will make it modable for the PC followers. He knows how the modding community can enhance the popularity of the game.

I remember exactly what you mean KC. HH2004 had a whole new look than the previous editions. It did take awhile for the HH modders to adjust.

It's like Christmas again !!!

If a new baseball comes out for the PC, it would be nice if they went through some of the threads on this site looking for ideas on how to make the game better and of course if they made the game moddable.

And just as The Big O wrote, making the game moddable only adds to the popularity. The question is what would be moddable. Hopefully, it would be as much as what you can mod with MVP which is nothing short of awesome.

One idea is to have a link on the main page linking to threads that talk about improving the game so the powers that be wouldn't have to go that far to look for those great ideas. Just an idea though.

Have a great day.

where are you getting this info?

I think Evil was referring to the Madden game and not the potential new baseball pc game ... as in the Madden game only could mod just the rosters and portraits. Then again, I could be wrong ;)
