PETERSBURG - Biggest earthquake in last 2000 years yesterday hits the Tampa Bay MLB roster..Most of players of MLB team were traded to their new teams and Tampa Bay accuired a lot of new young guns for victories and glory in next few years(maybe 2000 years too:) Fired was also team manager Joe Maddon and Tampa Bay hired new unknown unexperienced manager R.K. He pitched very well, allowed only 4 hits and no ER in 5.2 IP and pick up his first win of the season. DRays make a great comeback from the 3 runs deficit in 10th inning and Oscar Villarreal pick up the win. Francisco Rodriguez pitched 1.2 perfect innings, but with 2 men on bases and 2 outs he allowed homerun from Greg Zaun to give Blue Jays 8-5 lead. Closer B.J. Ryan take a moung, but allowed two singles from Delmon Young and Chase Utley for start of the innig. Than retired two batters , but with two outs and two men on bases Alex Gordon doubled to the deep center and SS Jjohny Peralta homered deep left to give DRays this great win in 10th inning. At the top of the sixth he allowed 2 ER from homerun by Frank Thomas and in the top of seventh he allowed another run by a missing play by LF Delmon Young. Zack Greinke from bullpen allowed another two run. BJ Ryan this time dont blow his save opportunity and pick up first save of the season. In first inning he surrender 5 runs by HR's by Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jjohny Peralta. He pitched total 3.2 innings in this game, he was gone by a solo homerun by Ben Zobist in the bootom of fourth inning. Jon Lester pitched solid 5.1 IP ,allowing only two runs by solo shoots by Nick Swisher and Bobby Crosby. Joe Kennedy, reliever for Loiaza pitched very well(allowed only 1 run by tripple by Delmond Young in the bottom of seventh inning), his curveball was excellent. Relievers for DRays pitched well too, Yovani Gallardo and Francisco Rodriguez complied only one single hit in 3.2 inning of work. Discipline at plate was again big problem for Rays batters. Micah Owings pitched very well and retired batter per batter with lot of groundballs, from fifth inning he has peroblem with control of his pitches. Owings pitched for six , scoreless innings, struck out 2 batters. Chad Gaudin were in litlle trouble in the bottom of fourth inning when he loaded bases and two outs with singles from Chris Duncan with very close play at first base and another single from third baseman Chris Gordon, also he issued a walk to Jarrod Saltalamacchia. At he bat was Troy Tulowitziki and as usually he was struck out swinging:))) Plate discipline,plate discipline:) In the top of seventh take the mound Carlos Villanueva with one man on base after single from Dan Johnson , first pitch and Travis Buck was hit by pitch:) Afterthat three quick outs by Carlos Villanueva. Until ninthth inning booth defends works well, but in the bottom on ninth Devils Rays closer Jon Papelbon allowed solo HR from Dan Johnson and there is extra inning, but Devil Rays still struggles on plate and in the top of 12th inning is there another homer from A's from the bat of Rob Bowen and closer Houston Street make his job better than Papelbon... 2-1 deserved victory for Athletics. It looks like very nice game at the start...Bottom of first, bases loaded ,no out , Richa Harden allowed 2 runs in this inning by a single from Alex Gordon to center field. Kim has two first inning very quick and he looks very sharp..But ;] Top 3rd..deep fly ball to rhe right..Im running with Delmon Young to the left and im waiting for ball.. but now, Delmon is doing step to right and again to the right and now he is running to the wall at the center:))) no response from my buttons on gamepad = nice inside the park homerun by Travis Buck... Kim was shocked and he was totally out of zone..in 4th and 5th inning , he allowed another 3 single HR's..in 7th was substituted by Oscar Villarreal and Oscar wants probably be better than Kim when he in 0.1 innings pitcher allowed also 2 HR's a one signle RBI..nice job, thanks:))) So Athletics won the series 2-1 and we need to rise productivity at the bat. In first two innings of work he allowed 2 runs and his pitching in first three inning, it was like watching some film from Alfred Hitchock's;] Most of pitches ends as single or double, from fourth inning Hill pitch more better and leave the field with 3-2 lead, but asi is usually in last games,Carlos Villanuevafrom bullpen allowed a solo HR to tied the game to 3-3 in 7th. But at the bottom of 7th, Cabrera(7.0IP,9H,5ER,5R,2BB and 2SO) loaded bases with 2 outs and Chase Utley singles to center for 2 RBI's to give up Devil Rays 5-3 leads again. Oscar likes a horror movie too, so he suprislly allowed a solo HR from Nick Markakis Jonathan Papelbon try to maka another drama with blown safe to loaded 1st a 3rd base with 2 outs, but get well done his jobe with grounded batter out at first to save 5-4 victory for Devil Rays in first series game against Baltimore. Bottom of 9th inning starts with singles from Delmon Young and Chase Utley and then blasts Guzman his game-winning HR. At the top of 7th inning Orioles leads by 3 runs 5-2 with Chris Gomez's solo homerun. In bot of 7th answers DRays with 3 run inning by a SF hit from Jarrod Saltalamacchia and 2 run homerun from BJ Upton to tied the game at 5-5. But in ninth inning Francisco Rodriguez allowed on run by a single from from Brian Roberts and O's take a lead 6-5, but thanks to Guzman's homerun he pick up the win in this game. He is 0-2 , 4.00 ERA in three starts. Mike Mussina had no problems with Devil Rays offense a pick up second season win. Chase Utley is struggling at bat, he went 0-4 in first game, in second game he was 1-4 with no RBI. Devil Rays are now on six game loosing streak against 2 game series against Texas. Tampa Bay Devil Rays won booth games against Texas Rangers mainly because of new aquistion and now local hero Mike Sweeney. Sweeney homered in booth games, compiled 3 RBI's in first game and 4 RBI's in the second game. Closer Jonathan Papelbon had a save in booth games, totally in the season he had 4 saves. Ryan was bench player in Washington lineup and has 1 hit and 1 run in 2 seasons starts at bat. Chris Duncan in 19 games, had 24 hits with 1 HR, 5 RBI's and 6 runs.
