redsox
Hey everyone, I was playing around with my roster set and I accidentally deleted David Wright from the rosters. Its been a couple of days and I have been trying to add him into the roster set, but for some reason the game keeps on crashing. I have attached the .mep file (player file from MVPEdit) as well as the .mbe file (MVPEdit save) if someone could please take a look at this - KG, Totte, and SS? I have done the following to solve the problem but to no avail. - Changed the cyberface ID and the audio/portrait ID to generic and default ones respectively to make sure it wasn't a cyberface/portrait related issue. - Deleted the David Wright player from the rosters and the game runs smoothly, but if I add him in the game crashes. I am guessing the problem is with the ratings that I have assigned to him, but not sure how it could cause a problem. If anyone could please take a look, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. Homer
i can't check this since i'm on vacation and just glancing through, but isn't he on the all star roster too? if so, if he's deleted, and then re-imported, you would have to re-edit the all star roster with notepad. Totte
i can't check this since i'm on vacation and just glancing through, but isn't he on the all star roster too? if so, if he's deleted, and then re-imported, you would have to re-edit the all star roster with notepad. Exactly, since he's on the AS-rosters, he needs to be added manually there too. Just do as Homer said and edit the roster with notepad.
redsox
Thanks for the help guys. I figured it would cause some problems if David Wright were to stay in the All-star roster so I deleted him (intentionally) from there and created a duplicate of Jim Thome and added him to the All-star roster. So basically David Wright should be found only with the Mets and no where else. Would that have caused any problems since I deleted him from the all-star rosters? Totte
Thanks for the help guys. So basically David Wright should be found only with the Mets and no where else. Would that have caused any problems since I deleted him from the all-star rosters? It might have but why not just take a completely new roster (like UR 8.6) and load up the mbe-file, export the rosters and be good to go? Maybe it's ust me but it seems like much stuff to go through just to put David Wright in there again...
redsox
See the problem is I had played a dynasty using UR 2.3 and am continuing on with my second season and would like to keep the stats and the rosters the same. I have also tried exporting David Wright from UR 8.6 and importing him into my current roster, but still the same result. If all else fails, I can always create him in game, just not have his stats from 04 and 05. I just wanted to be completely sure that there would be no solution to this problem. Thank you for the help.
Homer
yeah, duplicating thome and adding him would do this. at least i am assuming that you did this through mvpedit? if so, any editing of the all star rosters could cause the crashing. in order to edit all star rosters correctly, you must do it through notepad. this way, the player isn't a duplicate player either. redsox
Wondering if you guys could help me out with this type of problem. Whenever I click on MVPEdit, I get the following: I have to hit cancel about 5-6 times and after that MVPEdit loads and everything works fine. How do I get rid of this annoyance? Thanks for the help. Also, when under add/remove programs I have a program called Windows Installer 3.1 - could that be something that's causing this problem?
