guffee
I searched for this. Hopefully it is not a repost. I only read the thread title and not the post themselves. Things you will need: a hex editing program. They have one in the download section. I use nitrohex. install hex editing proggy. Make sure you backup the file. Load the pitcher.dat file. It is located in easport/data/database/pitcher.dat Pick your pitcher of choice. the numbers are as follow: the first thing is 0 and it is the first name of the pitcher. 1 is last name. 2 is stamina. Change the stamina from whatever it is to 120. Do this on the side that you can read not the gibberish that is hexidecimal code. 3 is pickoff. 4 is fastball movement. 5 is fastball description. 6 is FB control. change this as well to 120. 7 is fastball velocity. Change this from whatever to 1. yes 1 mph. Save file in database folder. Now playing the game. Use the fastball only and aim it everytime at the middle-bottom square in the strikezone. Hold the meter until it gets to about 80-90% full speed. You will need to learn to find the perfect spot on your own. It isn't an exact spot but it is an area so you don't need to be precise. then hit the fastball button again as the line lines up with where you clicked it for the speed. There may be guys who get on cause some times there will be passed balls on strike 3, but you will always end up with a perfect game nonetheless. I have done this numerous times so I hope it works for you. Good luck and start racking up points on mvp level.

JWalk126
wouldnt the passed balls just make it a no-hitter?
guffee
wouldnt the passed balls just make it a no-hitter? I thought so too, but at the end of the game the announcers announce it as a perfect game. When you get it perfected, you won't have to worry about passed balls. Jim825
Where's fun in this? If you're racking up points just to unlock classic uniforms and players, there is already a profile that you can download to do this. You're really only getting points for your hex editing skills......

I'll keep my work to myself next time.

Yankee4Life
Well ive never thrown a perfect game yet, but i dont want to cheat to do it. Some people in here have and there are threads to prove it. I did it a long time ago before the creation of the box score extractor and before I started using Fraps in every game I play. I had something. Thought I'd share it but I guess you don't think it's worth posting. I'll keep my work to myself next time. You can share anything you want in here but all this guy is saying is that even though you did a lot of work to find this out, there's really no fun in playing a nine inning game if you are just going to do this. And if you are just racking up points to unlock things, stop right now. Create a player called Katie Roy. Save that player and you will have everything unlocked. Simple as that. SESbb30
thats pretty awesome, howd you figure out how to do this?
genchildren65
i had a perfect game going just a few minutes ago, got into the ninth with two outs, two strikes, no hbps, no walks... missed the pitch meter, line drive into center field, right up the middle, blew the perfect game. that sucked! fred13
Isn't it possible to just open .dat files in notepad? Or do you have to use a hex editor?

It's just something to have in your back pocket when you've done everything else in the game. Play with one pitcher his entire career and have him pitch all perfect games with 27K per game. Aren't alot of the programs on this messageboard about cheating. Editing players yourself or editing dynasty/owner modes. Just thought I'd add 1 more. thats pretty awesome, howd you figure out how to do this? In MVP 2004 I was editing Johan Santana cause he isn't all that good in the game. I wondered how the computer would react to a 114mph fastball followed by a 1mph change and that is how I found out, when I threw the changeup. Isn't it possible to just open .dat files in notepad? Or do you have to use a hex editor? never tried that. if it works that way then thanx for the assist. I haven't tried it with all the pitchers so I don't know if it works fot all of them. It did work with Harang and Haren. You may have to play around with the control numbers or the speed with your favorite pitcher if it doesn't work. baseballinjapan
Dude, it's a video game. Not real life. Fiction. Entertainment. A way to relieve the stress of life. Take a dive off the reality board for a couple hours. Cheat away my man, cheat away.

Just thought I'd add 1 more.Just want to clarify something, just for anybody who's new's own information: What modders are doing isn't cheating. I'm not sure where you got that from. What you're talking about is mostly editing rosters to be more accurate, since plenty has changed since the game first came out. Sure, you can cheat if you want to that way, sometimes it's fun to see what happens, but almost always when somebody comes out with a roster mod or edit or whatever in the downloads section, it's for accuracy (all those roster updates) or for a different twist on something (for example compmaniac's softball mod), not so you can "win". Just wanted to clarify that. Enjoy your cheating.
