HFLR
After watching all this 3 videos I was amazed about Microsoft Surface. Specialy in the 3rd video, here's the link: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/ This is great I hope it works with Ipod's and not just with Zune's

abc006
That's pretty cool, though I doubt it or a future version will really become common in, say, restaurants in five or ten years.

xiberger
It looks nice, I agree on that, but how are we supposed to play MVP on that thing? ;-)
abc006
This is insane! I want one. Does anyone know when they hit the market? Or have they already?"The first Microsoft surface units won't hit the market until 2007." I'm wondering what the surface will be like, it can't be something like a mouse pad with a screen, hopefully it's an actual glass table that's somehow touch sensitive. Random mistake in the video: In the second video, the girl's wearing a leather jacket, but the overhead view of her using the surface has her wearing some kind of blouse. MarkB
I think it's still in early stages of development and testing, as the first demo was only made around a month ago. As with pretty much all Microsoft products thus far, I like the idea, but how it's actually implemented into the final product is almost always a let down. I've not watched the videos above, but just from the press coverage it's gotten here so far, I can see a lot of potential vulnerabilities with this very quickly. Instead of dragging your credit card along to the payment circle, then to the tips circle, they might need to add a third one - for the account of the guys who will also be getting your credit card details when they exploit the living daylights out of the Surface. pistonj92
Yeah the Surface does look sweet. I wish they made a cheap version. Maybe there will be some knockoffs made so there will be a price war.
Sean O
$10k is a pittance for the myriad of restaurants, shops, hotels etc. that'll bust down the door to get one. When restaurants are doing anything and everything to stand out from the pack, something like this will immediately make them recognizable. Now, I can't wait for the Apple version which is more colorful, 4x as expensive, easily smudged, and completely nonfunctional.
MarlinsMS_35
Oh, My, God. The coolest thing I've seen in a long time. So, when does the lemonade stand start? lol. I'm definitely sot spending $10,000.
