hi guys!

as i'm from germany i don't know very much about american football. my only sources for football are television (nasn) and video games (madden nfl 08).

when i play madden 08 i have the opportunity to get a report about the opposing team. i play with ny giants and sometimes it reads:

eli manning should dominate their secondary.

and ysesterday i saw someone talking on nasn about the "secondary".

but what is meant with that?

i belive everyone of you knows, but i'm a quick learning football noob^^

1.The defensive players who line up behind the linebackers and basically defend the pass.

2. The area of the field defended by the defensive backs.

Examples: The secondary includes the cornerbacks, safeties, and any other defensive backs used in nickel and dime formations.

Nickel and Dime formations are defensive sets that are designed to protect against the pass.

There you go, Yoghurt. :)
