redsox
Hey everyone, I have been using Thunderbird for over 8 months or so and I have been quite impressed with it, but how does it compare with Outlook in your opinion? I have read plenty of online articles talking about which one is better and it seems that Outlook gets the nod over Thunderbird. I haven't used Outlook at all - little vary of MS products but seems like Outlook has been pretty well implemented. Is it a good decision for me to migrate from Thunderbird to Outlook or am I making a foolish mistake? Any help in regards to this is much appreciated. Thank you. MarkB
I've used Thunderbird for about 2 years now, and quite frankly, if I could install it at work and use it instead of Outlook, I would - in a heartbeat.
philliesphan18
I prefer Thunderbird. It's has a cleaner, crisper layout in my opinion.
Friedman
Netscape Messenger version 4.79 is better than both of them. I've been using it since Windows 98, and never had any problems, and never will.
redsox
Thanks for your opinion guys. I like the fact that you can always download all the different add-ons/themes for Mozilla products. Is there something similar out there for Outlook? Also, what are the features found in Outlook that are not in Thunderbird. I know that Outlook has an inbuilt calendar while you have to use Sunbird to use a calendar compatible with Thunderbird. What are the other differences, if any? Also, if I were to swap to Outlook, is there anyway for me to forward all the e-mail messages that I have in Thunderbird over to Outlook? And vice-versa if I just don't feel comfortable with Outlook? Thanks again for all the help and suggestion.

Outlook has a load of features other than e-mail, but I don't really care about them because I use an e-mail client to check e-mail. And yes, there is a way to export the e-mail messages you have in Thunderbird to Outlook or vice versa.
ThaHustla
I've never used Outlook. Thunderbird does the job just fine for me.

BTW, can you tell me how I can transfer my mails from Thunderbird to Outlook and vice versa. I would like to stay away from using a third party software if at all possible. I have read about Eudora, IMAP, and Netscape Communicator and was wondering if there is any other way. Thanks again.
