AstroEric
I second "Running Down a Dream" and "Radar Love." I thought of those two immediately upon reading the thread title. I also have an MP3 CD of action hero music, specifically spy stuff from the 60s and the themes from movies like Bullitt, and it makes you feel like a supreme badass. Also, a similar CD of British "library" (generic music made for TV show soundtracks) music called "Morphine Mambo Jazz Club" has much the same effect. The only problem is that you can't drink martinis and drive at the same time. Lately though, I've been listening to Me First and the Gimme Gimmes at top volume. abc006
Let's see... Roadrunner by the modern lovers... anything (well, almost anything) from a "poptopia" best-of album of the 70s... any coltrane, or for that matter Monk, Miles, etc. ...then again, I like to concentrate on jazz, and I don't drive, so I'm not sure if it would be too hard to concentrate on the road for me, dunno. Oh, and any talking heads, great driving music.
