zneal89
So I play Madden 08 and NCAA 08 online all the time, but I absolutely am baffled on why I can't get a full game in. I have been trying to get games in left and right, but I'm lucky if I get 1 out of 15 games finished! I get a DC on my side every time. I get the game rolling, and USUALLY i get into the second half with little/no lag, and then it decides to DC me randomly in the 3rd quarter. Sometimes, I will get randomly DC'd in the 1st quarter as well. The weird thing is that there is no sign of it DCing before it does. I have no lag during gameplay, and it will just freeze up and tell me I have lost my connection to my opponents randomly! I have gone through 2 controllers in the past two months because of this. I don't know what to do I have cable internet, and I am hooked up to a router. All that is connected to the router is this PC and the PS2 in my room! The router is the Linksys, and it's a 5 port switch, ALMOST exactly the same as the EZXS55W model...But I doubt that it's the problem, because I bought it just this week. It happens when I try to play my Xbox 360 online as well. Can ANYONE help me out, as I have been so frustrated as of late? Thanks, -zn89
Borgi
do you think its your opponents maybe? or does it happen everytime....i really dont know what to say to you, is the problem your having on the pc or playstation or xbox?
zneal89
Well, it's kinda odd, because I never lose connection on my PC...It's just on PS2 and Xbox 360...... It's not my opponents, because it never gives me the opportunity to continue...it always says that I have lost the connection to my opponent and my only option is to end game....IDK what to do, it's getting to the point where I'm so frustrated..... I have switched cat 5 wires and i get the same problem. I bought a new router and I get the same problem. IDK what I can do. I've shut off my cable modem for 5 minutes and allowed it to reset. I get the same problem....IDK.... Anyone got an alternate strategy?

zneal89
I don't think its the router... I just bought it brand new.... I think it's more of a cable modem thing, but IDK... I never had problems with finishing a game until the past 2 or 3 months....

Kccitystar
What you can do is try to get a direct link from the modem to your X360 and see if you can get a full game in. If it doesn't then it's a problem with your connection. If you do get a full game in, it's a port conflict with your router. Have you looked at the linksys site to see if they have instructions on how to configure the router for X360 gaming?
