evil1182
I'm selling a Hynix 512mb DDR2 PC4200 533mhz 200-Pin SO-DIMM for $49.99 or best offer. It's used but not that long maybe a month or so.
MarkB
Looks like you can buy that new from eBay express for $29.99 + $7.99 shipping, or from a selection of other places for less than $49.99.
evil1182
I did say "or best offer"
MarkB
So that someone would come in with a higher offer than they would if you went for $29.99 first of all..yeah, I know how the hustle game works, trust me. Just seems a bit shady trying to hustle on a community like this. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
evil1182
Not necessarily, my first offer for MVP was $70.00 and someone came along and bought it for $50, so it's not really a "hustle" You always start high in a business transaction. Now you just ruined my offer.
MarkB
With someone you know is on the same level as you, yes. However, I could name quite a few members who wouldn't know the going price for that RAM, and probably wouldn't know how to find out what it is, so they might just offer $49.99 straight off. If you don't see the difference between offering a price of $70 and selling for $50 for a game of MVP and offering a straight up $49.99 starting price for a computer component that a large majority of people wouldn't have the direct ability to install or even know much about, you're not much of a fair trader. I just don't like seeing people being screwed over by someone just because they don't have specific knowledge which the other person does. I won't apologise for "ruining" your "offer", because it's really no different that seeing 2 stores on a street, one with big advertising which is selling for $49.99 and the other, with a small store-front and no advertising, for $20 less. Which would you go to?
