Hudson_Vasquez
Have you all noticed how hard it is to pull balls down the lines? It happens all the time in the real world, but you could throw over the middle and swing early enough and it would never go down the line, stay inside the line, roll into foul territory, none of that happens. Also, have you noticed that no matter how hard the ball was hit, anything that goes to the outfield (and this is especially noticable if you try to pull the ball) comes to almost a dead stop? Plus the ball barely curves and bounces funny.
MarlinsFan
with pierre i hve hit to left foul line several times in my current dynasty, once to right which ended up being a inside the park HR.
bone
i have not had any problem with this either. just last night i had a game winning homer by adam dunn, he pulled an outside changeup straight as an arrow down the right field line and hit the foul pole square! sweeeeeeet! needed 349ft to get out, got 351. i get a lot of curving hits too. kaplerisking
I do it down the lines at Fenway fairly frequently. I've hit quite a few extra base hits down the right field line towards Pesky's pole, and a lot of HR's I hit over the monster are just barely fair, and a lot of shots down their go foul for me, so it's definitely possible to hit it down the line. Perhaps its just more difficult in some parks than others.
Hudson_Vasquez
That's really strange. Does it depend on the difficulty level? I play on All-Star. Also, how about the lack of spin, curve, and funny bounces on the ball? And what about how hard-hit base hits that go to the outfield just end up stopping dead in the outfield, rather than rolling all the way down like they really do? Hudson_Vasquez
Well, in real-life MLB games, I always see hard hit liners and grounders hit down the foul lines that roll ALL THE WAY into the corners, on any turf. In MVP 2K4, I've seen it once and that was at Olympic Stadium. No surprise, but everything else is weird. I have not seen any funny bounces at all, except on fielding plays. The balls don't have the hook they should have.
qwert
i notice some of that too.. But i do remember a shot i hit the other day where i got a inside and low pitch (hitter=rightie) and hit it just over the fence couple inches off the foul pole. but i have never been successfully pulled an outside pitch for a HR. Usually if i see an outside pitch and swing, it turns out to be lazy flies. Would be interesting to know how u do it.

Usually if i see an outside pitch and swing, it turns out to be lazy flies. Would be interesting to know how u do it. ya, most often they turn out that way for me too. in the one i was talking about above, adam dunn has a 90 power rating .vs right handed pitching. the pitcher gave me a 2-0 changeup belt high on the outside edge... i pushed the stick outside, knew it was a changeup, and see ya later. shweeeeeet. the fact i pulled it as sharp as i did meant i swung a stitch soon, but not too soon. it's rare, but i'll take it. i'm sometimes able to do this with Tony Clark too, for some reason the CPU likes to throw him changeups outside from right handed pitchers. they shouldn't do that. if i know it's a changeup, and it's in the strike zone, it's gone. Hudson_Vasquez
This was one of the things that Made High Heat superior to the EA Sports games. High Heat had super-accurate physics, the ball rolled correctly, made funny bounces, etc. And you could pull pitches.
Guest Mindwarped
pull down the line on the ground, I hardly ever can do it. I pull a HR down the line all the time.
