evil1182
Using paint or photoshop is the easiest way to do it, you could change the exstension but it might have some issues.

abc006
You know, you could always just change the extension from "picture.bmp" to "picture.jpg", no fancy programs involved, it should do it automatically with no harm done to the image. Jim825
I use IrfanView. Simply open up the .bmp file with IrfanView, click File->Save As and then select JPG file and you're all set. Here's a link: http://www.irfanview.com/

meteamo
There's a nice picture viewer program I've used for a while called Irfranview. It's free and you can do a ton of things with it including [batch] format conversion, [batch] picture resize, rotate image, and others. You can also create a slideshow or screensaver based upon images you select. I mostly use it as a picture viewer and as such, it's better than most others I've used. As a side note, if you don't want to buy Photoshop, you can try out PaintDotNet. It has some limitations compared to Photoshop but may not for long. It's open source and in my opinion, Microsoft should use this program to replace the Windows Paint program. I married a diehard Red Sox fan and two of my daughters are Yankees fans and the other one is a Red Sox fan. Needless to say, Red Sox - Yankees series are always fun in our house. :)
