spitoon
if its integrated i dont think you can... This is not true at all.... Yes, certain motherboards do have integrated video built right into the motherboard. It cannot be replaced itself, but rather disabled and then you can install a normal video card which will perform way better than the integrated one. The only catch is that some motherboards don't come with an AGP (advanced graphics port) slot, in which case you would have to resort to a PCI based video card which is less than ideal, but likely much better than the integrated video. You would need to identify what kind of slot your computer has, and buy a video card accordingly. Usually you will have a set of PCI slots (3 to 5 of them) which are white, and if you have an AGP slot, it will be the uppermost one and is brown in color, and slightly set back from the white ones.... AGP cards will provide the best performance, and you will find the greatest variety of cards here. PCI cards perform below their AGP counterparts and are sometimes difficult to find. Integrated video is usually meant for office computers that don't need much 3D capability.
jolie
saw the vid card you were looking at, radeon's all well and good, but power color? what the hell's that? remember, the maker of the card can be as important if not more than the chip it uses. the same goes for a mobo if you're looking to set up your own. you aren't gonna find one worth getting for less than a $100, mine was semi top of the line and it was $160. and asus is a good choice, i've also heard abit is good, gigibytes are also good, mine hasn't crashed since i've gotten it about 6 months ago. same thing with ram, sacrifice quantity for quality. don't get bullshit value crap. check the cl timing, the lower the better. geil, crucial, ocz, hyper x are some good ones. just get at least 512mb, anything less isn't really worth it. i have dual channel in mine, work good, not sure if dual channel really makes a difference though. newegg is probably the best for new retail stuff, but ebay is great too if you trust it. i found most of my parts there, all were new though. and if you're replacing all this stuff, you might try to replace the mobo too, without it you won't get the gain out of all your upgrades. and you can't replace an integrated vid card, but you can disable it. same goes with a integrated sound board.
