Want to use TrackBall (mouse) for pitching...

Ok.. odd question here. I want to setup MVP on my arcade cabinet which has a trackball and non-analog controllers. I noticed that there is a controller.cfg file that I can edit. Would it be possible to edit the keyboard.cfgs to use the Trackball (essentially a mouse) just for aiming while pitching? I could use a virtual joystick program to make the mouse detect as an analog controller.

Edit: Ok.. thinking about this more I can simplify this question :)

If I take a Joystick section of the .cfg and change...

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= button 12
to
VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= key sc_pageup

Would pageup now work?

Yes.. that is what I did. My trackball emulates a mouse which emulates a joystick.

You need to download PPJoy. It creates a virtual joystick device. It also comes with a util called PPJoymouse or something. You run that and now your mouse controls like the analog stick of a joystick.

You of course need to edit the Controller.cfg and Profiles.big files to support this joystick device. Also, need to edit the registry slightly.

Problems in game for have been:

1. Mouse doesn't reset to center like a joystick does. Wondering if maybe mapping the aim outside control and clicking it after ever pitch will reset it to center.

2. Can't seem to figure out how to use RStick for only pitching (aiming) and LStick for Fielding controls. Right now the mouse is used for pitching and fielding.

I don't see either controls in the games controller config section. I do see RStick and LStick inside the controller.cfg and the profiles.big (csv).

Problem is they don't specify what exactly the these controlls do... just a keymapping.
