NeoMExelor
Like, what's your best? Wright and Mientkiewicz? Cano and Lugo? Name it! Mine would have to be Mike Lowell on 3rd and Jorge Posada on 1st. No errors committed and great plays are not uncommon.
HCaray
i haven't seen many Yankee games this year, but does Posada play 1st often? I gotta think that fielding percentage would go down with a position change. Anyway, I'll say Derrek Lee, and anybody else. He saves so many errors during a season, it's not even funny. Wright and Mientkiewicz don't even play for the same team! Same for Cano and Lugo and the same for Lowell and Posada. And Posada doesn't play first base, he catches. He played first base once this year. For someone who called Yankee fans idiots in the shoutbox, you don't sound too smart yourself.

RaptorQuiz
The Rolen - Rentaria - Womack - Pujols infield for the 2004 Cardinals was pretty darn good. The 2005 edition of Rolen/Nunez - Eckstein - Grudzielanek - Pujols was awfully good too (didn't they set a DP record?).
RaptorQuiz
SeanO practically FORCED NeoMExelor to call his fellow Yankees fans idiots. And uh... Yankees fans ARE idiots. :lmao: As for him not knowing who plays what position, or even on what team... ...maybe he was asking for a hypothetical defensive infield? Or maybe he's just smokin' some of MarkB's stash?

HCaray
I think you misunderstood me. I meant on your MVP team. Oh, in that case I'll take the 9 players with the best all time fielding percentages. i just won this game.

NeoMExelor
I had some rookie on first base for awhile before I traded him away for Adam Dunn. Posada caught after the rookie took over.

HCaray
So you're saying... no Soriano then? Nice. :biglaff: I wonder what would happen if Soriano threw a ball from left field, and Eckstein threw one from short at the same time, who could get it to first base on fewer hops? MrDudleyDoWright
The Alfonzo, Ordonez, Ventura, and Olerud was probably the best defensive combo out there. Ah! the good ol'e days
abc006
I'm going to pretend we're not talking about the game but in real life. Well, in a way you could say Yogi and Whitey Ford - Yogi was a great defensive catcher with a bullet arm, obviously, and Whitey Ford had an amazing pickoff, something like the Pettitte of his time I guess. kgbaseball
On our high school baseball team, we had Chuck Knoblauch Jr. Poor guy could never make the throw to 1st from 2nd. Ironically enough, he's my roommate right now.

Ironically enough, he's my roommate right now. Very Cool. I seriously thought Chuck was a good player. Very good leadoff hitter and too bad for the mental block ... kind of reminded me of that catcher who couldn't throw in the movie Major League (or Mackey Sasser). Hope all is well with him now.
