Yes I need advice again...

Yes it is baseball related, but its about speed.

I go to the gym and do some speed and agility 3 times a week but thats not enough.

I hit for average, I hit for power, but I want speed. I'm not settling for the minimum because that's one more thing I will have over everyone else.

I want to be a David Wright type player.

Power, average, and speed.

I'm just picking up information from everyone and I want your advice. And please don't give me the generic "run". I'm looking for specifics.

I'm currently doing ladder and long distance running (6miles a week, I'm looking to increase to about 10miles, 2miles a day). I also do some sprinting.

one drill that will help with your initial takeoff and your foot work is the step drill. Find some patio steps and start on the bottom. without paying attention to where you place your foot just sprint up those steps as fast as you can, repeatedly. It wont increase your stamina or anything like that, but it will increase that initial step, and your reaction to say taking off to steal second, or if a ball is hit to you in the outfield.

Nothing is better than knowing your angles, and knowing certain situations better than you should. defensively practice often playing balls from all different types of hits. know where you play and know it well, that knowledge will make you that much faster. Even on offense, if you know the pitcher cannot make it over to the third baseline, you can take a slap single. Its all about the little things that will make you faster. Know the pitcher, the fielders and the situations around you.

Just some advice

you should also push yourself to the max, and you should definetely run more than 6 miles. even with 10 miles, thats just 2 miles mon-fri

Recovery is also a very important part of the process. You do not want to push yourself too hard. Don't force anything.

Also remember that quality > quanitity. Running a good 5 miles is better than running a bad 10 miles.

Well I currently run a 7 minute mile. I know its not great but, before I started my training it was a 12 minute mile. I'm only going to do 10 miles a week because I'm on a strength and agility program at my gym 3 times a week so I 'm working on other agility things too and I don't want to overwork myself.

I've been dieting, and it's nothing really drastic. The food I eat is still really good. It's just I eat a lot of grilled and stay away from fried crap. I'm also drinking a gallon (or at least I attempt to) a day.

It's just that wherever I play I need to work 10 x as hard as everyone because of politics and with college letter starting to come out, I want to become the best possible player I can be. I don't want to be content with what I am.

I want to be the best that I can possible be.
