piratesmvp04
Which MVP is it? I have MVP 2004 installed on my Vista machine (Sony Vaio laptop), and it runs like a charm. As far as fixing this problem goes, I'd first need to know if you experience slow performance in other programs. If you don't you may have to just close some programs by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc (on Windows and XP and Vista) Ctrl-Alt-Del (on Windows Me and older). Then click processes, and disable some programs. Be careful what you disable. If you do not know what you are doing, you could cause your computer to crash. If you are unfamiliar with doing this, the easy solution is simply to disable your anti-virus software before starting the game. You should know, however, that if your computer will then be vulnerable to viruses, spyware, etc, so I wouldn't recommend this if you have a dsl or broadband connection or if you play online. If you notice the problem in other parts of the computer, you might have a virus, and you should do the following. 1. Download Spybot from http://spybot.com/en/download/index.html. Install the program and make sure you do the updates. 2. Download Ad-aware from http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php. Install and update! 3. Download CCleaner from http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/. Install. 4. Now, run a scan with all three programs above. You will find a large number of errors, and let the program fix them. 5. Afterwards, run your disk defragmenter by clicking start, pointing to programs, accessories, system tools, and disk defragmenter. 6. When you are finished doing all these scans, go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/?WT.z_TMLi...kName=HouseCall and run the Trend Micro Housecall (scans for viruses). Housecall is the free virus scanner from Consumer Reports award winning anti-virus software. Let me warn you that this scan may take a while. If you have a dial-up connection, I recommend doing this at night. 7. After you have finished all these things, your computer should run smoothly. If you have any questions, PM me.
