Just adjust the kerning a little bit and you should be able to get a close match. They cost as much as they do because you are purchasing the rights to use them publicly and/or commercially. It is someones copyrighted design work, and you are being granted permission to use it however you need. It's a small price to pay if you are using the fonts professionally. ok i just learned that Helvetica isnt on my computer... i havent deleted andything and i cant find it for free... again I just looked on my PC as well, and I am short a Helvetica font... I use MAC's at school often, and I may have mistaken it for a default font on a MAC. I will see if I can track it down for you.
