And since when was Tony Womack on the '04 team? Did you trade for him?

Yeah, he started on the 04 team. First at second base, then they tried him in LF.

Game 8: NYY (Clemens 0-0) @ MIN (Silva 0-1)

Yanks Win 5th Straight 4-0

mvp20052007110420421235tf3.png

A-Rod hits his second of the year

Minnesota-The Yankees just can't lose. Roger Clemens was the big story and he proved that he didn't lose a step in his career. He pitched 8 full innings and he struckout 5. Alex Rodriguez got back into the action with an RBI single and a solo Homerun. Bernie williams stepped in and hit 2run hR over the fence. The twins just can't figure out this Yankee pitching as they continue to struggle. They are on the verge of being swept away. Carlos Silva pitched good in the early innings and just fell apart in the late innings. Tommorow Yanks throw the man with the best knucklecurve Mike Mussinsa. The only good News the Twins can take from this is that their relief is pretty good as Colby Miller didn't give up a hit or a run in in his 2.2 innings pitched.

Joe Nathan celebrates after his save

Minnesota-The Yankees streak was finally snapped tonight. The Twins showed amazing offense today. Torii Hunter had 2 big flys and a RBI double. the Yankees rallied but couldn't complete the comeback. Ruben Sierra hit a nice 2-run Hr that put the Yankees up for the moment but the twins took over. Mike Mussina came off a ND effort and pitched another ND. He wasn't all that bad but just gave up timely hits the Twins hitters. Jose Contreras came in as relief but it really didn't make a difference as he picked up hi second loss of the season.Kyle Lohse was pretty good buthe also gave up timely hit to the Yankees. The Twins finally showed some life in this series even though they still lost the series 2 games to 1. Next the yanks will throw one of their smokin aces Jon Lieber as the Yanks head west for 3 in Oakland.

Oakland Wins on A Walkoff 5-4, Yanks drop 2nd Straight

Mark Kotsay Celebrates after his WalkOff shot to center

Oakland-Wow, what a game this was. The Yanks jumped out early over the A's with a solo shot by derek Jeter. Later in the game the Yanks were up 2-0 and Eric Byrnes hits a 3-run HR that put Oakland up for a short time. The very next inning Miguel Cairo hit a solo HR and then Alex Rodriguez hit and RBI triple that put the Yankees up in front. The game was tied in the 9th by booby Crosby as he hit a solo homer off of Mariano River who was in to save the game. So the game went to the 10th tied at four. Then Mark Kotsay on an 1-2 pitch smashes one to deep center field over Bernie Williams' head and over the wall and Oakland handed the Yankees thier second straight loss. Tommorow it's back to the top as New York throws fire-baller Kevin Brown.

Oakland Wins 1-0,Yanks drop 3rd Straight

mvp20052007110617142021jd4.png

Jason Kendall hits a solo HR

Oakland-Another great game today but the Yankees lost again. It was a great pitching duel today as Kevin Brown pitched an excellent game. He only surrendered 1 run which would hold up as Oakland won. Rich Harden was just frustrating the yankee hitters today. They had no offense at all. Kevin Brown went 7.1 innings and struckout 3. Rich Harden went 8 full innings and he struckout 1. The Yanks are now in a 3 game funk and are on the verge of being swept for the first time so far this season. The Yanks need to get it back on track because after they finish this last game at Oakland they go home to play the Cleveland indians. The good thing is that Brown only gave up 1 run so the yanks know if they only surrender 1 run a game they hope their offense can get back into a groove.

A-rod hits his 3rd homer of the Year

Oakland-The Yanks came out firing from the first inning. They scored 3 runs in the first. A-rod and sheffield both homered in that inning. Dan Haren was just terrible all game as he couldn't find a way to stop this relentless Yankee offense. Orlando Hernandez was excellent as he pitched 7 full innings and he struckout 4. The big story is the yanks avoid the sweep and they break out of the 3 game losing streak. The A's started make a little comeback as Buddy Groom came in as relief and he gave up 3 runs. The Yanks ultimately held on as they go back to Yankee Stadium to face the Cleveland Indians. The man that has improved the most is Gary Sheffield he hit 2 long HR's today he he is now tied for the team lead with 6. Tommorow the Yanks throw Roger Clemens.

Pettite: It's good, i really don't have a problem with it, I really wouldn't mind going back to NY.

MLB.com: Do you think the Astros and the Yankees would do another deal?

Pettite: I would think so, Brian Cashman contacted me and we were talking about me returning to the Yanks, so i think it's possible.

MLB.com: What would be the best thing about returning to NY?

Pettite: The best thing would be just the fans. i also miss the team and the ole skipper Joe Torre.

just a few hours after the interview the yanks were in talks again with the stros and they were working on a deal. Stay tuned for more news on the trade.

Game 13: CLE (Jason Davis 0-0) @ NYY(Clemens 1-0)

Bernie's walkoff Propel Yankees

mvp20052007110717214762nj9.png

Bernie Williams celebrates his walkoff to deep Right Field

NewYork-This game was another classic. Roger clemens dominated this game all the way until the 7th inning. He was cruising until he gave up 2HR's in the seventh and gave up 2 more runs in the 8th. Jason Davis didn't really pitch well. He went 7 innings and struckout 1. Clemens went 7.2 innings and struckout 3. But it was Bernie Williams who stole the show as he hit 2 big homeruns. Bernie is a legend in the eyes of many and he just further made them believe it. He stepped to the plate and smashed a pitch high into deep right field and deep. The whole Yankee stadium stood up and paused as the ball was in the air. When it cleared the left field fence everyone went nuts. The Fans were chanting bernie as he was rounding the bases. It was truly a great game. Tommorow the Yankees throw Mike Mussina. As you all heard the Yanks are pursing anothe Houston Pitcher...Andy Pettite. The Yankees will have to wait to negotiate a deal because Pettite has 7 more days on the Disabled list.

Gary Sheffield watching one of his 2 HR's sail over the Fence

NewYork-The yankees destroy the Indians pitching tonight and they just wouldn't let up. Mike Mussina got his first win of the season tonight and dominated the Cleveland batters. He went 6.1 innings and had 3 strikeouts. Cliff Lee just couldn't stop giving up runs. He was giving up hits left and right. He went 4.1 innings and he struckout 2. The game was tied at 0 until the 4th and that's when the yankees poured it on. Gary Sheffield had a monster night. He hit 2 long HR's en route of the Indians. The Yanks are now riding a modest 3-game winning streak. Tommomrow they look to sweep the Tribe. It will be a tough task as the Yanks will go against Cleveland ace the Fireballer CC Sabathia. After this series the Yanks head into Beantown to Play the Hated RedSox.

Yanks Squeak Out Win, On 4 Game Win Streak

mvp20052007110911570801ta2.png

A-Rod hits his 4th of the Season

NewYork-This was a very competetive game in New York tonight. The Yanks sweep the indians and are on a 4 game winning streak. A-rod and Bernie willams got thier strokes back as they both went deep off of CC Sabathia. Sabathia was given an early one run lead by a HR but that would not be enough to hold down the Bronx Bombers. Jon Lieber pitched pretty good but he didn't end up with the victory. Now the Yanks decided to put lieber in the Pen and have Jose Contreras take over lieber's spot. Joe Torre said if we make the Playoffs lieber will start at least 2 games depending on how far they Get. Back to the game, The Indians offense hung in there with the Yanks but just couldn't avoid the sweep. Next The Yanks head to boston for the first time this season. Everyone still remembers the amazing 2003 ALCS where Aaron Bleeping Boone hit a HR to send the Yankees to the World Series. The Redsox don't want to remember as they try to take down the Yanks this series. It's back to the top as the Yankees will throw Kevin Brown.

mvp20052007111009201321sg2.png

A-Rod hits another HR against Boston

Boston-Add this game to the long list of great games played between the Yankees and Redsox. Roger Clemens came out the game in the 2nd inning with an inflamed elbow. He will be out 8 days. The game went back and forth as Boston took an early lead off the bat of Big Papi. The Yanks was slowly starting to figure Tim wakefield out and then BOOM! A-rod ties with a 2run HR over the monster. He homered in all 3 games this series. It was all out duel as the Yankees brought in pitcher after pitcher. A total of 5 pitchers were used by the Yanks and 4 for the Bosox. Boston was clawing there way back in the 9th but Mariano Rivera held on to get the much needed save. The Yanks take this series 2 games to 1 and they travel to Florida to start a 2 game set with the Tampa Bay DevilRays. The Yanks took 2 out of 3 in the season opening series. We also heard that Jon Lieber will take over for Clemens until he returns from the disabled list. Brian Cashman told me that he was still in talks with the Houston Astros to setup a deal for Andy Pettite. Cashman said" We really want Pettite, we really could use him right about now". Cashman went on to say "He is very dominant and i hope we can get him.

Gary Sheffield continues to hit HR's

Tampa Bay-The Yanks went into tampa and pulled out a good vivtory. Even though Jorge Sosa was striking out Yankee batters left and right The D-Rays offense just couldn't get Mike Mussina. He pitched well and earned him self his second victory. Gary Sheffield is a man on fire. He just can't stop hitting big HR's. Bernie Williams also got into the Jack action by hitting a 2-run Hr that gave the Yanks a 2run lead and win. The Yankees have won 2 straight games and they play one more at Tampa then they go home to play Toronto for 2. We were also told that the Yankees were going to give up some minor leaguers for Pettite who has 1 more day on the Disabled List. Derek Jeter was quoted saying "Andy is a good player.
