HFLR
Hi guys, I dont know if you have already heard of this news. The state of Tabasco in the south-east of Mexico is flooded at a 90% because of the heavy rain and this is one of the states with more poberty in the country. See pic below: All the orange zone is Tabasco. News says that this was provocated by the CFE (Electricity company) that operates in almost all the country. They were trying to generate electricity with water to get more $$$ and then the water levels started to raise and raise and raise. One of the MVP Caribe modders (he is a MVPmods member too), J-Art lives in this zone of México. I haven't had contact with him since the catastrophy, I hope Jorge and all his family is ok, I have already donated to help the tabasco people. I know maybe you guys can't donate buy at least, please pray for Jorge, his family, and the all Tabasco people that are suffering this tragedy. Pics: And I repeat, this is in almost all the orange zone in the map above.

genchildren65
i just read the article on this earlier, it's very sad. however, i couldn't find a link to any groups that are helping, i would love to donate something and help these people out. it really hits home now knowing that someone from the community is being affected by this flooding. RaptorQuiz
The pictures alone remind me of the "Great Flood of 1993" that happened here, at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. The photos look eerily familiar. ...knowing that kind of devestation is spread over such a much wider area - it's hard to even fathom. If there's any more information anyone digs up on groups that are helping down there, please post info/links in this thread. Thanks.

MarkB
Best wishes HFLR and everyone else in the region. The truly sad part is that this had to be reported on a community website by a user rather than in the mainstream media.
HFLR
The storm is over but some places are still flooded and without light JORGE IS OK!!!, he just logged in today and told us that he and his family were fine!! He told us that Tabasco still looks like a war zone, some places in Villahermosa were flooded up to 1 - 1.5 meters high, he was 2 weeks without lights, internet, telephone, and more. Just like a prehistorical city. Thank you all for praying for Jorge and all the people who live in Tabasco :)

hmsrenown
That reminded me 1997 flood in China, that is devastating. But unlike that flood, it's not even reported in mainstream media, that is truly atrocious and outrageous. I guess nature struck again, and we can just hope that the planet won't take us all out.
