MVP 07 pitching camera

Wonderland

Recommended Posts

Hey folks. Is there any way to change the #6 reverse view camera of the MVP 07 mod to the way it was in the original game? I don't like how it follows the ball during the pitch and all, it's a little distracting for the pitch meter, and I just preferred the view of the original.

I tried replacing the datafile from the original game and that did it, but it also changed a bunch of other stuff I didn't want changed. Is there any way to only change the #6 camera? Tried taking a look at the datafile in wordpad but confused the hell out of me.

Incidently, just so I don't start another topic I'll ask here. How in the world can I get rid of that infernal stuttering? I know the patches were supposed to fix it, but they haven't for me. And I have a fairly high end machine and graphics so I don't think that's the problem. Are there any other solutions to this or am I stuck with the annoying problem?

Thanks for any help, anyone!

Welcome to the site, Wonderland!

In order to get the original reverse pitching view for the 07 datafile, you have to replace the following lines:

0xbed1924f 97<BattingView6RightLow>...

0xcf7ab64e 97<BattingView6RightHi>...

0xf83c7e3c 97<BattingView6LeftLow>...

0x3611589b 97<BattingView6LeftHi>...

To do so, grab this tool which allows you to (de-)compress datafiles. Now open the original one, copy the respective lines and replace them in the 07 datafile. After the work is done, don't forget to save and compress your file.

As for the stuttering, search the forums because there are many threads about that problem.

Thanks so much xiberger, appreciate it. I've searched high and low, here and elsewhere about the stuttering, never with an answer. I guess I'll keep looking....

One more thing without need for another topic perhaps... is there any way to get the game running on a higher widescreen resolution? 1680 x 1050 to be exact. I saw a patch somewhere and used it, but it made the screen stretched out and everything wider, not really the best solution. It's weird because the game has a widescreen resolution in it that works fine, I just want a higher one. Any ideas?

-EDIT-

Bit of a problem. My datafile is a .big not .txt so the utility doesn't seem to recognize it. Anything I can do to fix this?

The datafile.txt file is embedded within datafile.big. You need to perform a few extra steps:

1. Open up datafile.big with a tool like EAGraph or BigGUI

2. Extract the datafile.txt file and move it to your MVP Baseball 2005 data folder

3. Follow the steps that xiberger outlined.

Awesome. You guys are great, thanks.

-EDIT-

Oh boy, now when I decompress the datafile, and it opens the datafileedit.txt it's empty... nothing from the datafile.txt is in there to be replaced or anything.

Yes indeed. I do see the lines that were posted and supposed to be replaced, but the datafile for the mod and the original seem to be a different layout. The mod's is divided up more neatly while the original is all clumped together. I can't figure out what exactly to switch out to get the original view because of these differences.

xiberger, I don't want to be a douchebag but do you think it would be possible if you made the changes necessary and send me the datafile.big? If you don't have the 07 mod one, I can send it to you to make the changes. If not, of course that's fine, I'm still trying to figure it all out but with little success.
