JoeyCalz
I am looking to start an owner mode but IDK who to start it with... Every time I also try to start one I'm almost ALWAYS starting in debt after the first week and I'm never able to climb out of depth so I end up just buying everybody for the highest price win the WS and get the boot. I'm looking for a realistic approach to succeeding in Owner Mode, anybody have any helpful advice on how I can do this? And any teams that they found it easy with? GoRedSox34
I don't know about PC, but in my PS2 version the only time I suceeded was by creating a bunch of guys who were 17,(the lowest possible age) making them completley horrible, all 0's and everything. Sign them to those 5 year 200K dollar deals to your MLB team and they will accept. After you sign them, make them all 100 in every statistic possible, and sim the entire season all at once. When you go to the Owner's Box at the end of the year, you'll have over 100 million dollars. And by the way, your team will probably go like 158-4 and win the World Series, so this isn't the way to do it if you want to play a realistic sim. JoeyCalz
A classic thread. In what regards like this question has now been asked over 4 trillion times? lol
SESbb30
well, i think you just have to play it out, and play good baseball. you're gonna be in debt from the beginning, you have to spend money to make money, ya know.
Mav3rek
Just use artmoney to give yourself some cash-o-la at the begining. No owner in the world starts a new team with a crap stadium like that, and 2 million to spend.
UncleMo
In what regards like this question has now been asked over 4 trillion times? lol No Joey, just think about it. EA, makes a fun game, that can't be won. It's funny that you have to even ask such a question about a game. But it is a valid question. You'd THINK that that would have been discussed as they were testing their own game for production. I purposely don't play owner mode because of that hassle. You already know about Art Money, I assume? If not search for that and -or, just go buy some advil. Everyone pretty much just plays Dynasty mode. JoeyCalz
No I don't know about ArtMoney? What is it? And I completely agree If given about $10 million or so at the beginning and being able to make $ a bit easier would have definitely improved this. I'm always doing dynasties and such so I was thinking about doing this
Mav3rek
Artmoney is a program that will allow you to edit the money you have in owner mode. There is a thread around here somewhere about it and how to use it.
fred13
I've succeeded. I start by choosing the larges budget (5 Million.) then buying the first stadium seating upgrade, and buying promotional items for key games, but I make sure not to spend all the money. I usually have about 400L-500K to start the year. Then lower ticket prices. After the all-star game, if my team is doing well (leading the division, or in the playoff hunt), I raise the ticket prices. If I make the playoffs, I raise the prices again. At the end of the year, I've actaully made money. However, it took my about 7-10 seasons to complete the stadium. This was with the Angels with the default rosters when the game first came out. I'd also made a few trades to lower my payroll. Or, you can always take the easy route and just use artmoney like people mentioned above.

How can you tell which teams have the largest bank to start out with? Is ArtMoney a safe program to use? Just wondering because I don't want any excess programs causing problems or anything... Just wondering because I don't want any excess programs causing problems or anything... On the owner mode options when you first selcet "new owner mode" there's an option that says "budget" and you can choose small, medium or large. It can be with any team. Also, from my experience, Artmoney hasn't caused any problems.
xiberger
This tool does the trick as well and is much easier to use than Artmoney.
abc006
I've done it before on rookie mode, I unlocked all the stadium upgrades by about the fifth season. On harder modes it can defenitely be done, but it just takes a bit of time, more than most people seem to stand.

DannyMac910
There was this program were you could just run the game, then run the program, and pick how much money you wanted. It was much simpler. I think i googled "Change Owner Mode Money In MVP 05" and it came up.
