piratesmvp04
I was wondering if anyone was willing to make a 2007 roster update for MVP Baseball 2004. If you feel that is not worth your time, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get the MVP: MLB 07 total conversion mod to work with MVP Baseball 2004. I look forward to anyone's response. philliesphan18
It can't be done. Not without a ton of work at least.
piratesmvp04
Is it too complicated to give me the step-by-step process of converting that mod for MVP 2004? Or would it be easier for me just to make my own roster update?

Or would it be easier for me just to make my own roster update? Your best bet would be to do one of two things. 1. Get Mvp 2005 somehow, someway. Ask for it for Christmas if you have to. You would have to probably get it on e-bay or unless someone sells one here. The 2007 mod was not made with Mvp 2004 in mind at all. 2. If not, you can make your own roster update but it would take a lot of time.
redsox
If all you are looking for are the rosters, then I THINK that you can just use MVPEdit to convert an 05 roster set to an 04 one. I know it works the other way around but not sure if an 05 roster to an 04 one will work. You can surely take a look and see.
piratesmvp04
Okay! Which version of MVPEdit should I use? The MVP 2005 one or the MVP 2004 version?
krawhitham
How to make MVP: MLB 07 work on MVP 2004 You would need Miracle Max for that
redsox
I would guess that you would have to load the 07 rosters in the 2005 version of MVPEdit. Make sure that you load the standard version of the roster set. You may have to change some of the cyberface IDs as well.
Yankee4Life
Okay! Which version of MVPEdit should I use? The MVP 2005 one or the MVP 2004 version? Use the version that coincides with the game you have. So, use MvpEdit 2004 for Mvp 04. Now that I think about it, this may not work. As you know there has been a lot of roster movements since then, right? You may have cyberface issues that you will run in to. For example, if you are updating the Yankee roster and you add Robinson Cano, he was not in the majors in 2004 and you can add his stats but then you would not have a cyberface because no cyberface for Cano was made for Mvp 04. Thats right. He will probably have to edit some of the players to change their face IDs, but if he were to load a standard roster set, he may not have to change a whole lot of them. From memory, I think there is a list of cyberface IDs from the 2004 game somewhere on here. I know there is a list for the 2005 version of the game, but not sure on the 2004 version. piratesmvp04
So should I might as well just make my own roster update for MVP 2004 since it sounds like there will be too much trouble using the MVP 2005 one?

Yes, I would do that. In fact I would stay away from any 2005 roster out there because you could run into problems, like your game will crash. What you should do is this. Back up your existing roster in your game before you start working on updating the rosters. Then update a team at a time and test them out. You will be losing a lot of cyberfaces and updated portraits, but you can't do anything about it.

It will be more trouble trying to create your own roster set than converting the 2005 roster set to the 2004 one. One other thing you can try is to load the rosters from the lahman's database. But then, you would have to edit the stats of all the players.

Two things that are a given here is that he's got to back up his current roster right now before he does anything and whatever he does, be it importing rosters via lahman's or doing it himself, this is going to take a lot of work. Yankee4Life
I just checked for this guy for updated rosters for Mvp 04. I went to Baseball Sim Central and they have some rosters for Mvp 04. The latest one is from May 10, 2005 and the link for that is right here. No other Mvp 2004 rosters have been made after this date. So you have over two years of updating to do. That will only give me a year to update instead of two.
Yankee4Life
That shows how much I follow the rosters for Mvp 04. That game has been put away for a long time in my house.

Does anyone know if MVP Baseball 2005 requires a video card with transform and lighting (TNL)?
piratesmvp04
I don't need to know how to convert MVP 05 files to 04 anymore. I have started a project on eamods.com to create a total conversion mod for MVP 04, and I have a number of people helping me with that project. It will be released at the end of next February in time for the 2008 Spring Training. I would like to thank all those who tried to think of a solution for me. I appreciate it. If you would like to help with my project, titled MVP Baseball 2008, just go to www.eamods.com and under forums, click on the 2008-2004 link. You'll then see the threads that are dedicated to my project.
