Top PS2/XBOX 360 games

Hey everyone, I recently got a hold of a PS2 system and I am wanting to know of a list of games that are a must have.

I had bought MLB 07: The Show and I am thinking of purchasing these:

Assassin's Creed (not sure if its available for PS2 - I know its there for PS3, XBox, and PC)

MVP 07: NCAA Baseball

The BIGS

GTA III

GTA: Vice City

GTA: San Andreas

GTA: Vice City Stories

God of War

God Of War II

James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing

WWE: Smackdown vs. Raw 2008

I am not sure as to which GTA games to pick. I have never played GTA III or GTA Vice City Stories but I am not sure if they are any better than San Andreas. I have played both Vice City and San Andreas on PC but I just can't seem to play that on my computer anymore, the game always crashes.

Also, what are some good James Bond games that are available?

Any help in deciding which set of games to buy for PS2 would be much appreciated. Take care.

-Buy the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, stay away from the Stories.

-MLB Power Pros (KC said this game = GREATNESS)

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281834

-God of War II is pretty cool

-Fire Pro Wrestling Returns (I really only suggest this over SVR if you don't care about 3D Graphics and have an Action Replay Max with a PS2 that has the USB ports on it. I say that, because I have 827 wrestlers in the game by having the AR Max. This game also got rated better than SVR:08 and is only $19.99)

-No idea about any James Bond games. I'd head over to gamespot and look at the reviews for them.

-If you want a couple funky but fun games, Katamari Damacy (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=938914) and Road Trip (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=938306)

You should be able to get the boxing classic (in my eyes, at least) Fight Night Round 3 for a good price if you're into boxing, and with Round 4 coming out soon, it should be reduced even further.

OK, here we go

Jak & Daxter

Ratchet and Clank series

Virtua Fighter 4

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence

Gran Turismo 4

Wipeout Fusion

Viewtiful Joe

Entire Devil May Cry series

Twisted Metal: Black

Soul Calibur 2

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Resident Evil 4

MLB Power Pros

Burnout series

Katamari Damacy

Psychonauts

Entire GTA series

Tekken 4

Tekken Tag Tournament

Kingdom Hearts and KH II

SOCOM 3

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

Okami

Shadow of the Colossus

Final Fantasy X

God of War I and II

Amplitude (founding father of the Guitar Hero series)

There's a lot more but that's my taste in games...and games I still haven't bought yet and I should have bought...

By the way, avoid the MLB 2K games like the plague. They have not changed like their current gen counterparts (PS3, 360) in terms of animations, graphics, anything. For the PS2 you are basically stuck with MLB Power Pros and MLB 07. When it comes to sports though, 2K is fine, just not baseball.

Thank you very much for the reply. What about some shooter games - which series is better, the splinter cell series, rainbow six series, or ghost recon?

There's Medal of Honor Frontline, Freedom Fighters, SOCOM 3, and James Bond Everything or Nothing if I can remember.

Sorry to bother everyone again, but can you guys list some really good XBOX 360 games? Also, are all XBOX games compatible with 360 or is it just a selected few?

I know Halo 3 is must have and I am really wanting to get Assassin's Creed, but apart from those two, what else do you guys recommend? Thank you and sorry for the trouble. Take care.

BTW, the genre that I am looking for - sports games (mainly baseball), FPS (more like Tom Clancy type games), and adventure games. One thing I don't want to get is any horror games, not really into it except maybe F.E.A.R. (a really amazing game).

I recently found out that I would be getting XBOX 360 for my birthday and after much research on different gaming websites, I have narrowed down the games that I am planning on getting for PS2 and XBOX 360. What do you guys think?

PS2 - God of War II and Vice City Trilogy

XBOX 360 - Assassin's Creed and Smackdown vs. Raw 2007

I figured I would get the 2007 version of Smackdown vs. Raw instead of the 2008 version, as I was told that there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the two and that there is a huge difference in the cost. I think $19.99 vs. $49.99.

X360?

MLB 2K7

The Bigs

Rainbow Six: Vegas

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2

Dead Rising

Splinter Cell Double Agent

BioShock

Assassin's Creed

Crackdown

I'm not too familiar with the other titles seeing as a lot of them are shooters or "me too" shooters.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Also, I am not quite sure as to which console to go for - XBOX 360 or XBOX 360 arcade.

From my basic reading, I have found out that XBOX 360 contains 20GB Hard drive space whereas the arcade only has 256MB. I have also read that XBOX 360 can play certain number of XBOX games but XBOX 360 Arcade will NOT play any XBOX games. BTW, are the hard drives to be used very similar to PS2's memory cards? Basically if I want to save a single player game that I am playing, I would need to store it on the hard drive? If that's the case, what's the general file size for a game on XBOX 360? I am guessing you can also store movies on that hard drive.

For those who own an XBOX, what is the size of hard drive that you have normally gotten and could you guys please give me a reason as to why you guys went about buying that particular size?

Also, its very unlikely that I will ever play games online - maybe Halo 3 but even that is a long shot. Basically I will be sticking with single-player and 2-player games.

Thanks a lot for the help and suggestions. Take care.

Get the 360 PRO bundle that comes with Forza and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Microsoft tends to gouge people with the pricing on accessories, I mean they're up to 120GB drives on the Elite package yet they charge you $99 for a 20GB drive. XBOX360 Arcade is still the "'Tard package"

get the arcade package, buy a used 20GB HD off of ebay ($40-50), swap out a new 120 drive ($70)

279+40+70=$389

the Elite Xbox runs $450, only thing missing will be the head set but you are picking up a 256 MB memory card

add a hard drive to the unit and it can, emulator software sits on the Hard Drive

You should get mass effect for the 360, great game, watched some ppl play it last night, really good game.

I got a 360 on Black Friday, and it came with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Forza Motorsport 2.

Marvel- Decent game with one player, but a freaking awesome game in co-op mode.

Forza- Takes a while to get used to how to approach turns, but a very fun game. I like painting the cars :)

Want:

NCAA Football 08

Halo 3

Whenever the new NCAA Baseball comes out.
