socomoddjob
I have tried 2007 and i absolutely despise the pitch meter, i find it unplayable because of it. I loved the way 1978 plays but my game crashed 15 games into my season. What do you guys think the best TCM is out there?? In terms of gameplay and not crashing. MarlinsMS_35
Well, it actually depends on what you're looking for specifically. Time Period wise.
Jim825
I loved the way 1978 plays but my game crashed 15 games into my season. Can you supply more details on this? How did the game crash? What team were you playing as? What settings are you using (e.g. are trades and injuries turned off)?
seanzarelli
If the only thing you don't like is the pitch meter, either change your sliders or download a different datafile.

Ive had this game sitting in a box for the last 2 years, i didnt even know this stuff existed until not too long ago. I didnt realize i could have changed the pitch meter. Ill look into it. Couldnt really tell ya what settings i had...i think they were all on the defaults. Whatever i was using worked fine up until this game.

If you were using defaults, then that means that injuries and trades were enabled. If that's the case then it's possible that a minor leaguer without a cyberface (I think I removed some to save space in the models.big file) might have made it onto one of the teams. That would definitely cause the game to crash.
philliesphan18
They're all amazing! -- Although, I think each one has its own special area. I love the classics for their air of nostalgia and I love the new conversions for their attention to detail and amazing graphic renderings! ming
07 is great but its "moody" like a wife thats sick of baseball season! One thing not perfect and its none for you tonight! You just have to get it like you need it and quit tinkering with it...but thank God we have it during these dark days of exclusive contracts... Yankee4Life
What do you guys think the best TCM is out there?? In terms of gameplay and not crashing. There's no way I can vote on what is the best Total conversion mod out there. I've played them all except for the Asian mod, and that will be taken care of soon. I just can't choose. Each mod is different and they're all good. And before we know it, the 1969 mod will be out and that means there will be another one we have to choose from. I do have a suggestion for you concerning the season mods (1956, 61, 64, 67, 78 and 94.) Do some research on the individual seasons and read about what made them so special. For example, the 1967 season had a great pennant race between four teams in the American league. Either way, you won't go wrong. And Total Classics Gold is just phenomenal too. Kayxero
Well for me I do love the Nihon Baseball mod. Im not a fan of classic baseball playing, although i love watching classic games as anyone would. But to play an old season would just be boring because i know the factual outcome. But NPB gives me something different. Plus I do like the fandom of japanese baseball. Fun fun people. Ja Mata
fotoram
I think the last few mods have been great. I really appreciate all the work the modders have been doing and for free too! I was wondering, why have all the major game companies not released a MLB Baseball game for the PC? I mean they just release them for the crappy gaming systems. I don't understand. Is it that there are not enought PC gamers to warrent releasing a decent BB game? Anyway....to all the modders working on '08. Thanks for all your hard work.
