Orioles trade Miguel Tejada

Tejada needed to go, pure and simple. Maybe he can be re-energized in Houston. I like the trade because we finally get a legitimate LFer that is under control for the next 4 years, two good pitching prospects (#58 and #85 on BA's 100 Top Prospect List) and Costanzo could be better than Scott Moore. And that's not mentioning the 26 million we can now use to eat contracts. It would have been nice to have gotten a higher prospect, but I'll take this deal. The O's are finally rebuilding. Roberts and Bedard are next on the trading block and they won't be the last...

Nothing for Everett either. This is worse than last off-season, with the JJ trade and losing Pettitte and Rocket for nothing (no arbitration.) I can't believe I'm saying this, but Ed Wade is worse than Tim Purpura, and that's saying something.

AstroEric, wanna join me in a quest to uh...bring back Tim Purpura! He wouldn't have done anything this season part from not offer arbitration at all!

EDIT: Not to mention a couple of obscure free agent signings. But probably not a Matsui signing either.

Everett hit .232 .281 .318, which is simply reprehensible. Ozzie, the gold standard of all glove, no hit shortstops, still managed a .262 .337 .328.

You're never going to get anything of value for that.

The Mitchell report is supposed to name 80 top players.... Who else do you think will be named? Roger Clemens was rumored as well. And Tejada claimed it was just B12 - yeah right. The Orioles are a classic example of how performance enhancing drugs do not help your game.
