gallow737
Well, I've had the game for about a year now, with the roster updates, portraits, and cyberfaces etc, pretty much an updated roster and player model updates. Well, it worked perfect for the entire year, then randomly it started lagging a few days ago. It wasn't so bad at first, then it got progressively worse. I tried uninstalling a lot of useless stuff on my PC, and it didn't help. So then I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it. At first start up after reinstall, it worked fine. So I then reinstalled the mods I previously had, then ran the game again and the lag came back. I have no idea why it's doing this, it worked fine for almost 10 months, then bam, it lags. And not just during gameplay, on the menu screens, the intro video, everything. I even tried turning off every visual option and setting the detail quality to low on everything, and still lags. Any suggestions?
BigPaPa
hmmm first try turning off or on V-Syn in your video setting if that doenst work (which i dont think it will) have you recently updated direct X and have you recently installed any mods you hadnt had before
gallow737
I have recently updated direct x. Is V-Syn in the MVP settings or is that a PC setting? I didn't notice it before in the MVP settings. No mods were added when it started lagging, when i reinstalled i went ahead and reinstalled the previous mods Do you think it could be DirectX? BigPaPa
its possible what version of direct X did you upgrade to? and Vsync should be an MVP option i think... idk but if it exists it will be in the video setting for MVP but only yhe ones you can access out side of a game
gallow737
The direct X makes sense. I recently bought Soldier of Fortune Payback and apparently it's too powerful to run on my computer but it installed Direct X 9 on my computer, but I could've sworn I already had Direct X

BigPaPa
to check directX go Start->Run and type in DXDIAG
gallow737
Well, I installed DX10, and still there is lag, even with VSync off, as well as different resolutions, etc. Then I did the DXDIAG and it said I have 9.0 installed still, which is crap because it made me restart my PC and everything. Oh well, I give up. I'll just uninstall and reinstall and try and add one mod at a time to see what the problem is. Thanks for your help, though. If any problems persist in the future I'll now know where to start

BigRog
defragment your computer. It will free up alot of space. I do this periodically and it helps me tons. Also, cleaning up disk space helps(temporary folders, etc).

BigRog
I suggest De-fragmenting while you sleep just because it can take a couple hours and makes your system really slow
pujols
Also, closing your firewall might speed it up a little.
gallow737
I defragmented it a day before posting this thread. Also, I don't have a firewall, just a virus protector that has been running since before I bought the game on my computer.
