My starting lineup in MVP Baseball 2004

bone: Its kind of hard to explain, but I got really good with pulling the ball. His swing is set up to pull and I find it harder to hit it away with him in the game. Usually I'd look for an inside pitch and either take or try to foul off the outside pitch. I also noticed it was very important to either not hold up at all or try to hold down every time I swung. While I did hit a couple homers with him, if I wasn't careful I'd push up a little bit and end up just lining out to the OF all the time. I also bunt a LOT, so I'd get quite a few hits that way, especially on outside pitches. I'd also end up with a lot of sac bunts which don't hurt his average. Most of it was just practice though, at first I was hitting at .300 or lower with him, but I was determined to get better and I have. Also, if the computer starts putting that big shift on cause you're pulling everything, it makes it really easy to hit to the left side and quickly the computer learns not to do that.

how did u get k-rod???

i drafted him in my franchise draft. he was my closer in the first 1.5 years, but i traded for gagne just because i like him a lot. i gave up a lot to get him, but it was worth it.

wolverineman, thanks for the tips. i should learn to bunt with ichiro, but i'm lame at that. it's wierd to hear you say you pull, because that's what i can't seem to do well with ichiro. and, i get the opposite shift as you, the slap shift. that's funny. maybe i watch him too much on tv. i just finished a game, ichiro went 0-4 with 2k's... uggh! (beat the yankees 3-2 though in a 5 solo shots game)

fair trades were on, actually, as it says in the post. just took a very long time to trade up enough times to get everyone. started off with the yanks, so i had some strong players to trade to begin with.

I see a lot of you guys like to keep your rosters accurate and up to date, not me. I just like to hit homers, more fun for me. My roster is a little unfair, but i did it with fair trades on and budget on.

SS- Derek Jeter

2B - Created Player

3B - Alex Rodriguez

LF - Vlad Guerrero

1B - Alex Pujols

RF - Gary Sheffield

C - Ivan Rodriguez

DH - Alfonso Soriano

SP - Randy Johnson

SP - Mike Mussina

SP - Roger Clemens

SP - Roy Halladay

SP - Tim Hudson

RP - Mariano Rivera

RP - Eric Gagne

RP - Chad Bradford

Most games are a blowout, obviously, even on mvp. But sometimes it's close, more now since last season i played all-star.

It shouldn't ever be close.. always should be like 11-3.... Yet i still think fair trades was off ... too stacked.

it's rarely close, more like 20-1 or something. but since i started this season with mvp, and pretty tough slider settings, according to what i've seen others setting there's at, it's usually 10-2 ish range. had a few games that came down to the wire though, sometimes i just can't hit a thing. plus i don't pitch the way i probably should. i don't walk anyone, and that lets the other team get lots of hits sometimes.

and you can think what you like, i built the team with fair trades on. there's just a trick, i couldn't have done it with just the original team, i had to keep signing the top free agent and use him along with some others on my team to get one good player. do that a few times and you can get anyone you want.

okay, I just started a new Dynasty with the White Sox and drastically changed the team. I'm proud of this one.

1B: A. Dunn

2B: J. Uribe

3B: J. Crede

SS: B. Upton/ J. Reyes

LF: T. Hunter

CF: W. Harris

RF: M. Ordonez

C: B. Davis

DH: A. Rowand

Bench:

CF: T. Perez

RF: J. Borchard

SS: B. Upton/ J. Reyes

C: G. Quiroz

1B: A. Laroche

3B: T. Jones

Rotation:

SP: A. Pettitte

SP: F. Garcia

SP: M. Buehrle

SP: J. Garland

SP: B. Kim

Bullpen:

LRP: N. Cotts

MRP: C. Reitsma

MRP: B. Duckworth

SU: D. Marte

CP: K. Tadano

I really like this team. Young players, fast players...some great defense and solid hitting. Bullpen is not the strongest, but gets the job done. Starting rotation is pretty good I think. I'm gonna play both Reyes and Upton at shortstop and see which player I like better and I might start Laroche at first and move Dunn to the outfield, in which case Harris will be a bench player.

any comments?
