kcksave72
So I got MVP 05 for Christmas and tried installing it on my PC (it's only 1.5 years old and runs perfectly fine) at 53% the installation asks to put in Disc 2. I oblige and then about two minutes later it was prompt me again to insert Disc 2. I have tried opening and reinserting the disc, but that doesn't work. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
wrigleyville33
how do you know it runs perfectly fine if you cant install it on your computer? check for scratches/system requirements (lol) and you dont have to post your problem twice in the shoutbox. kcksave72
Yeah, my computer is fine. The discs are brand new with no scratches.
wrigleyville33
my mistake... do you have another computer? try to install on that and if it works it might be your computer
kcksave72
No, I don't have one around me, I may try that tomorrow though. I searched it on Yahoo! and someone had the same problem and claimed that they unmounted their images and it worked. I don't know what that is or how to do it. BigRog
this error has only been known to people who have disk images (for illegal copies) mounted on their computer during installation.
evil1182
Or, umount the the mini image before you install. It's not illegal to use mini images.
BigRog
if he just got the game why would he have mini images when he has the disks?

rmac111
hey my computer does that too, its very strange. To make it work I just had to install it a bunch of times till it just randomly worked.
evil1182
if he just got the game why would he have mini images when he has the disks? Ease of use, I had the game since it came out and never once used the disks.
BigRog
idk, it just seemed weird, imo, that he just got the game and automatically jumped to images without even installing the 07 mod
BigPaPa
im not accuseing you of anything but this is usually a problem only people who illegally DL the game get
kcksave72
No offense taken by the illegal download suggestion, but I did by it. If I downloaded it illegally I would have said so. So I tried it again last night and same thing. If anyone else has had this problem and solved it please let me know. I guess I'll just keep attempting it as rmac suggested, until it works or someone has a better solution.
evil1182
Try wiping the discs down with some Isopropyl Alcohol.
BigPaPa
i ahve used ISOs for the past 2 years or so for my discs and for me at least it wont install unless i mount both images at the same time on 2 virtual drives
BigRog
If I downloaded it illegally I would have said so.if you dl the game you wouldn't tell us because then you would get banned unless you disk has major scratches the only reason it stops at 53 is because of mini images being mounted during installation. kcksave72
Well how do I unmount the mini images, I'm not a tech genius of any sort so if someone could tell me how to, or where to find how to do it, that would be awesome.

kcksave72
I haven't mounted any images, it was just a suggestion someone gave me. Today it got past 53%... all the way to 54% but then kept freezing up on (I think the stadiums) the files were something like MILLERDAY.BIG At this point I'm thinking it's just something with my computer, so I'll try it on someone elses computer. MonkeysUncleByMarriage
Upon searching to see if anyone else has had this problem, I found this thread. I know this thread has been dead for awhile, but in the original posters defense, this exact thing started happening to me today. My discs, which I purchased online for 60 bucks about a year and half ago or so, are still in near perfect shape (or at least to my human eye they are), and my discs stopped installing at 67% on aaa3nite.big. I tried everything, with the help of many people here, eamods and a few other places I go. But none of the suggestions helped. It just kept crashing on install that point. Again, the disc look almost new. I had forgotten I had a program called CDCheck. I ran it and found the second disc had somehow gotten a bad sector, of course its the sector that contains aaa3nite.big. I am now looking at what my options are to continue playing this game I love. But the original poster may want to double check the sectors on his/her disc. I believe CDCheck can be found at CDCheck. Hopefully his/her problem will be straightened out. I spent my whole off day today going over mine, cussing, screaming and damn near crying before finally finding out it was a bad sector. So I am living proof that it indeed can cause these problems from legally bought, legally manufactured cds, that appear to be in great shape. -Chris
