redsox
I am looking to install the vista transformation pack and was wondering if someone could help me choose between the system installation method and the setup installation method. At the beginning of the installation, its states the following for the "setup method": Integrate Vista Transformation Pack to setup files: This will integrate Vista Transformation Pack into Windows setup files folder. It will patch system files with Vista resources and install other components after Windows Install. Please keep in mind that you can't revert your system files back to original ones after uninstallation with this method. I had initially installed using the system method, but I don't think it was fully installed. I re-installed 3 more times and the same result. I still had default Windows XP taskbar (the blue color theme). Its my understanding that that was supposed to change to the Vista theme. I am thinking of installing this time using the setup method, but I am hesitant since there is warning that one can revert back to the system files. For those who have this update installed, which installation method did you choose and which one do you actually prefer? Thanks to anyone for the help regarding this matter. ronmexico
I did integrate when I did it, uninstalled and had no problem. It unpatches it, but what I think they're trying to say is it doesn't back it up or something, you can always back up your WINDOWS folder on the C: drive before doing this, it's what I did. redsox
Thanks for the info man. I was eventually able to install them without any problems. I had disabled ZoneAlarm during the installation procedure but since I had it setup in such a way that it would start automatically when the computer restarts, it hindered the installation process. I changed that option and it installed smoothly.
