opd188 Posted January 1, 2008 Share Posted January 1, 2008 I am new here, just purchased MVP 2005 off Ebay for $56.00. I have since successfully downloaded and installed several items from this site, stadiums, overlays, etc. This site is great by the way! I am having a problem with the rosters though. I successfully put them in but when I go to play with certain teams, Rays, Indians, Red Sox and probably others, my CPU goes back to the desktop. It does not matter if I am one of the above listed teams or if I am going to play them. I have tried the latest roster (8.7) and the one before that and with both I get the same result. I know it's the roster causing the problem because I have painstakenly deleted and loaded till I am blue in the face and it is the roster file. I have noticed that in the roster forum for the download that some other people have had the same problem but no one addressed how to fix it, or at least I didn't see it. redsox Posted January 1, 2008 Share Posted January 1, 2008 Which version of the rosters did you install - standard or plus? If you installed the standard version, then you must run the game only with the original models.big (it can be acquired off of the CD). If you installed the plus version, then you must download the latest models.big file that goes with the particular roster. Sorry for being a pain. I just did download and install the 2007 mod. That is quite a file, it took a while. When I hit the exe button it went to the loading screen and the loading bar was yellow and orange, didn't look right then about a quarter the way of loading it just crashed back to the desktop. The trouble shooting quide said that if this happened one might not have a powerful enough CPU to run it with the new stadiums and uniforms. I have a new CPU dual core 4000+, 2 gig memory, new radeon 2600 pro and a 320 hard drive. I am at a loss. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You must provide MVP Baseball full access. Also, I am assuming you are running as an administrator? I have read that if you don't run as an administrator on a Vista OS, the game generally crashes. In response to your first question, you need to grab the models.big file from the CD. I believe its in a folder called compressed, but not entirely sure. I will have to check and get back to you on that. But my suggestion would be to install the plus version as it contains plenty of cyberfaces for players (including for a lot of prospects). opd188 Posted January 1, 2008 Author Share Posted January 1, 2008 I checked my firewall and found it to be off. Not sure how that happened as I don't remember turning it off. I turned it on and then checked if I was signed on as the administrator. I was not as I had changed that for other family members. Downloaded and installed again and this time it worked! No crashing problems or anything. Not sure what I did different this time, just glad it is working. This is a fantastic mod, the upgrades are unreal. I am really happy about the music being changed as well. Someone on here is as old as I am, go Bachman Turner Overdrive!
