BigPaPa
new year's eve in Times Square Trust me this is not somethign your interested in unless you like being stuck in side a crowd of a million people ankle deep in garbage to not even actaully see the real ball drop. Getting close enough to see the real ball drop usually mean showing up 10-16 hours ealry. They cap the trash cans for safety reasons so everyon throws garbage on the ground. vendor s jack up the prices becuase carrying in bulky backpacks and coolers is not allowed for safety reasons. If you do show up ealry enough to actually get close theres no ware to sit, cops wont let you bring chairs and they remove all benches.
abc006
Yeah, New Year's eve in Times Square is incredibly overrated if you're not watching it on TV. Definitely something I could go my entire life without being there.

kaplerisking
Costa Rica. Easily the most beautiful place I have ever been in my short life. The rain forest there is breathtaking, not to mention the beach, and going on a zip line a couple hundred feet up in the air above the tree tops of the Monte Verde cloud forest (where they filmed parts of the movie Jurassic Park) was the most terrifying and awesome experience of my life. NYM
I've never been to Time Square on New Years Eve. I'll eventually go just because I would like to go once, but my neighbor who is a retired cop said he worked about 10 times there during new years. He said you're all sectioned in, its crowded, and its on lockdown. Once your in, your in. If you leave you're not going to get back in. Anyway he said about 20 years ago it was a whole lot better because they would let people flood Time Square with no barriers. One more thing, go to the city and buy something from a vendor. You should get hot dogs, but anythings really good. I've had dinner like that a couple of times on my way to Ranger games lol. Just in general, walk around NY. I know I'm being biased because I live here, but it's just a great place to be. You just get this feeling like your a part of the greatest city in the world.
