redsox
I've been looking on Ebay and they were about a hundred dollars also on amazon they were about $150 $150? What version? I got mine (CS2) from my college and even with a student discount the price tag was pretty hefty. I am currently thinking of upgrading mine to CS3 - but I am no hurry as I yet to use half the functions in CS2.

redsox
Ok, that definitely sounds reasonable. You can get a CS3 upgrade for $200 from the Adobe website. Which version of Photoshop do you currently have?
andrewdon
I don't have it I have used gimp but I am trying to get photoshop. Do you have any recommendations for a cheap version that is still good for modding.
fred13
to be honest, CS3 is very similar to CS2, its really not worth paying anything more than 100 for.
andrewdon
How similar is CS and
BigPaPa
CS3 is muhc nicer as far as the use interface and has a few neat feature but it almost just feel like a patch for CS2

Do you have any recommendations for a cheap version that is still good for modding. If all you have is gimp, then there is no point in you buying an upgrade as you won't be able to do anything with it. I believe the upgrade is there so that you can go from a CS2 version to a CS3 version. to be honest, CS3 is very similar to CS2, its really not worth paying anything more than 100 for. That's what I figured. I am currently in hurry to upgrade to CS3.
andrewdon
Found on Ebay photoshop 7 for $5.00 with 1 day left. I know everyone jumps in at the last second but I think that might not be the case because it is an older version.
BigRog
That sounds kinda far fetched.

andrewdon
KC how much different is it from CS CS2 and CS3
angryrat
7 through CS3 isn't drastically different. In 7, you don't get the filter galleries, and a few other options that you might use when exploring features, but the program core is pretty much the same throughout all of the versions. CS3 has nice options for making custom selections (like doing a player PSD cutout) but all together, aside from some cosmetic upgrades (or annoyances if you are used to CS2) than it's the same. fred13
Uni`s new teams creating cyberfaces etc. No. I'm pretty sure you can also use GIMP, which is free, to do any of that stuff. Google it.
