InSainn
I don't know if this should go in the support forum or mod request forum so I figured I'd just post it here. I recently purchased a widescreen monitor and I know by default MVP doesn't have any widescreen resolutions available but I was wondering if there's a mod for this, or if it's even possible? If so, will MVP 08 come with this feature, seeing as how widescreen monitors are the near future of computing? The game just doesn't look that great on the widescreen as is. It's pretty blurred and I think it may be part of the cause of why it's running slowly for me too...
MarkB
Well, the .exe can be hex-edited to change the available resolutions (for example, 1440x900 isn't supported as standard, but hex-edit the .exe and you can use this resolution), however, the game will only display the game on the resolution you choose - it will not update the FOV so that you see more. For example, if the batting view you're using only allows you to see just inside the 1st and 3rd base lines and you change the resolution to 1440x900, you will still see the same amount of detail on-screen using this resolution, it will just be stretched to cover the entire resolution. fookes
It will run fine, I am running 1920x1200, and am working to resolve the FOV issues. You can adjust various FOV variables throughout the datafile to make it appear less stretched, but I believe master FOV is in the .exe to display on 4:3 screens. The overall goal is to run MVP in 3840 x 1024 for a 3d virtual view, with no stretching across all screens.
InSainn
Can you possibly explain how I edit those variables in the datafile? Cause I'm pretty lost there. Also, you don't think it has anything to do with why my MVP runs slower than ****? I got this widescreen and installed Vista, along with a 256 MB video card with twice of what I had before (128 MB) along with an addition 512 MB of RAM on top of the 512 I was already running. Yet, it runs extremely slow since adding all of that when it ran fine before. I also turned off all the graphical features of Vista before hand to try and free up as much memory as possible and have even tried a complete reinstall. So now I'm at a loss. I don't wanna go back to XP cause really, this MVP issue is the only negative I've had since installing Vista. My computer itself is actually running faster than it did before.
