InSainn
I was wondering if anyone can explain to me how to decrease stadium textures? I've been having issues with my game after installing the 07 mod. This all started when I installed Vista on my machine. Well, I've now discovered that it's the stadiums in the 07 mod causing the problem. Some work fine but others, like Wrigley, crash the game everytime. I replaced the wrigley files with the ones on the CD and everything worked fine but of course, the stadium then isn't up to date. So I was wondering if there's a way I can edit the stadium files found in the 07 mod and just decrease the textures? Or is there another, even simpler fix? StormsWarning
i had problems with wrigley to, always crashed, after the top of the first inning, going into the bottom before a batter could get up it would crash, i unstalled the stadium that came with the reboot 07 mod, and used trues v1. thats up to date enuff for me, and every since no crash on that stadium. i remeber when chicagocubs720 was working on that stadium, it does look awsome, but i think that it was rushed kinda, and not all bugs were out of it, some will prob say i dont have any prob wit mine, and thats fine, im just stating what worked for me, Insainn to be honest when modding and dealing with this gr8 work, its alot of trial and error man hope it helps ya. InSainn
Thanks for the response but it's not 720's 07 version that's giving me problems, although that one crashes too, the problem is with Trues version that came with the 07 mod. So I gotta go all the way back to the 05 version that came with the original game...
BigPaPa
Do any other stadiums crash liek sayyyy Camden Yards?
InSainn
I know there are others that do... I just don't know which ones off hand... I play the majority of my games at Wrigley but I know I've had it crash on other stadiums before... I need to go thru and check em all I guess... InSainn
Here's some more info about the problem that hopefully can help lead to a solution. Some stadiums crash, some are real choppy/slow, others work perfectly fine. U.S. Cellular for examples cause no problems at all. I just tried Camden and it was rather choppy, but not the worst I've had. Also, Wrigley was fine until last night I installed Spungo's 2X unis (I had 1X installed before) and that's when it started crashing. But as I said, if I put the original stadium file back in there it works fine, even with the 2X unis. Personally, I'd rather play with better unis and not so good stadiums rather than vice versa but it would be nice if I could edit the current stadiums to where they'll all run correctly but still look like the game's being played in 2007 and not 2005... BigPaPa
your issues have to do with memory. You need to reduce texture sizes. Useing 1x unis or 1x cybers or going in by had and cutting stadium textures would do it. Even useing 1x gloves and bats would help some.

ChicagoCubs720
Wrigley has known issues, and I'm not fixing them until I overhaul Wrigley before the 08 mod.

StormsWarning
only overlay i use is trues espn, to me thats the best overlay with his data file. i think to kraw was meaning by memory, the graphics they are making are getting pretty intense, you should upgrade your memory/ram and graphics card. i have dual core, 2 gigs of ram, and a nvidia overclocked 8600, i got that set up mainly for my shooters, but the mods are getting higher, i can remeber when i first found this site, i had a 1.3 ghz 256 memory 1300 nvdia, that was few yrs ago, but then i would try and load these mods and would crash every time, sooner or later you'll have to up ya system bro. That's what I don't get though... before I installed Vista I had 512 MB of RAM and only 128 MB video card... when I installed Vista I also upgraded both of those, I now have 1.5 GB of RAM and a 256 MB video card... personally, I've been thinking I was lacking in the processor department as I'm running an AMD 1.51 GHz... my motherboard is an outdated AGP motherboard so there's no upgrading just the processor so anything I do there is gonna be costly... By the way, I do have all the bells & whistles and Aero graphics of Vista turned completely off before playing...
StormsWarning
thing is that vid card makes the diffrence when it comes down to high textures, your processor is defintly fine, that agp slot might be causing your delay, thats what my old pc had was the agp, i tryed stacking them but no luck, in fact it messed me up more with my gaming in general, the pci slot is what todays standard is, and for these textures there making its pull on your memory i believe, what you might could try is a program called cacheman, google that, it bascally makes your pc run at what you want to run and saves alot of mem. use. BigPaPa
since you have a video card and dont borrow your systems memory haveing one at only 256 is probably slowing you down i recommend you upgrade you video card. That should solve your problem and relitivly cheaply compared to to other hardware upgrade solutions.

krawhitham
So does that mean it will be fixed when MVP 08 is released? The Wrigley in 07 is not 720's, and I have had no crashing issues with it except when tring out new overlays

It depends what speed the AGP slot on the motherboard is, but if it's able to run a 1.51GHz CPU, I'd guesstimate that it should be fine. My system came with 1 AGP slot and a 1.3GHz CPU, and has never had any problems running MVP uring an AGP card. And no, the PCI slot is not today's standard - you're thinking of PCI-E, or PCI Express. PCI was the older one, which was superseded by AGP. AGP is now well on the way toward being superseded by PCI-E, if it has not been done already. More systems will have AGP at this point than PCI-E, but PCI-E is definitely taking over rapidly.
