wrigleyville33
fixed ps3 price change?
brutushayesosu
PS3 starting price is $399. But, if there was a new mode that EA can't talk about, wouldn't think there would be an achievement or two to coincide with it. I'm thinking they were referring to the card battle stuff. Just a thought.
D-Unit
Some of you guys are too obsessed with MVP to even look at anything else. Believe me, MVP is still going to be one of the greatest, if not greatest baseball game created, and the work here is fantastic, but don't jump on every single flaw of other baseball games, since MVP has plenty of them as well. andrewdon
I have to agree with D-Unit also Ben Brinkman who created MVP is doing MLB 2K8.

donniebaseball23
And one of the flaws is that MVP has virtually no weather environment whatsoever, no rain out, nothing. ive been playing 2k7 for a while now and the rain literally every other game is one thing i find to be annoyingly out of control did anyone notice in the one 2k8 vid the infielder actually did a realistic looking crow-hop on the throw to first. jeeeezus its a bout time, its only 2008 for cryin out loud

I for one am waiting for more reviews, the game to actually come out, and some user reviews before I buy this game.

On the PC version those are flaws that we can keep to a minimum. I for one look forward to everything that's improved for 08, although I'm against the "right analog for everything" idea. It works flawlessly in a game like Skate, but I don't think analog input for functions work fine with certain sports games.

Just because some people say negative things about these videos doesn't make them EA fanboys. I for one judge these videos on graphics, and I feel that some things look great such as the batting stances and some other little things, but the faces and swing mechanics look pretty bad in my opinion. That said, I would probably try the game if I had a console, just because I'd like to play something new, but I also feel that if EA still had the mlb license that they'd probably make better games than take two. Mvp 2005 is such a great game out of the box, so it provides a great foundation for a game that's even better. Just imagine mvp 05 with 2008 graphics, new features and improved gameplay. As of now, Take Two is still trying to measure up to mvp 05 and they haven't been able to reach that level so far.

All I'm saying is, look at MVP and the games we have to play right now, 2K8 or The Show. Imagine if we could mod those games the way we can mod MVP. I don't think MVP would have much competition against them anymore...some people just refuse to look at the fact there's other solid options for baseball games. While it isn't a perfect 10, it's still damn good to me. Every game has its flaws.
abc006
In all the 2k games, there always seems to be 30 mph winds every game on a sunny afternoon in August. MVP actually does have rain, in Seattle and San Francisco.

NYM
First of all, if EA got the license back, it would be a disaster. All the people who worked for EA during the MVP series all work for 2K sports now. 2K sports is going to give you a great baseball game, it just needs time. It's a three year process, as BB said. Not one, not two, three! THREE YEARS. How hard is that to understand? This game is the same as MVP 2004 was in it's three year process. 2004 was a solid game, but had some flaws. By the third year, most bugs were fixed, and there was a solid game in MVP 2005. Plus, you can't judge demos. For anyone who downloaded the demo last year of 2k7, you know that the graphics, cut scenes, and gameplay (hardly) was better in the actual game than the demo. So don't get all hyped up about these videos because there not perfect. There demos for a reason, not to mention there is one more game mode that is yet to be named, which will most likely be an expansion team mode, or a road to the show type mode, which will make any game 10x better. Give it time, let the final bugs be worked out, and actually PLAY THE GAME, before you judge it.

I can see the lesser known players looking like poo, but A-Rod, Jeter, and now Aramis Ramirez all look like the intern was left to do it. But, I can look pass the faces as long as the game itself is good.
wrigleyville33
its the same exact animations... same home runs... same announcing lines... ahh but wait i did see one positive so far... new batting stances! ... and finally better throwing. idk how this game will turn out in the long run, but as of now, this looks like garbage. hopefully the demo will tell me other wise. NYM
You're really judging a brand new DEMO of a game by four clips and a couple of screen shots? You seriously have to be joking right?
