John Legend and Herbie Hancock are two of my favourite people in the entertainment industry. I'm glad they're supporting Obama. I think if I was American, I'd vote Obama, even though I support Paul, he has no chance of winning, Obama is the only other person I like and he's got a decent shot.

She was a 2 term city Council member and a 2 term Mayor of a small little town, population of 5,469.

Wasilla City Council, 1992-96 Wasilla City Mayor, 1996-2002

And as far as the Commission is concerned she quit in January of 04 after being appoint in March of 03, like I said ONE year not two

Okay. Thanks for the information. :hail: On another note, more people work in my building than live in that small town. LOL

What do you think of a possible McCain / Condy Rice ticket?

Oh good god, that would be a nightmarish combination if elected. I doubt it would happen, but then again I don't know specifics.

Did you know that Obama got 80% of the vote in Idaho? And, Obama has more delegates than Clinton as of today!

The different news organizations have different totals and that total you quoted includes unelected 'superdelegates' who have expressed a preference for a candidate.

What do you think of Florida and Michigan? Do you think the delegates for those states would count?

If they don't, I guess I would kind of feel sorry for the people in those states that voted one way or the other ... kind of like their votes didn't count. And after what happened with the Bush / Gore and then Bush / Kerry elections, it would be interesting to see how those states react in the upcoming presidential election.

What will happen with Romney's delegates and would that have any effect on the republican nomination if he decides to give it all to Huckabee?

Currently according to CNN: it's 723 - 286 - 217 with Romney having the 286

Yeah, I was counting without the superdelegates. Can someone tell me why there needs to be superdelegates anyway? Personally, I think it should all be by popular vote. (That is, normal delegates, not straight-up popular vote.)

NO

Hillary was the ONLY name on the Michigan contest, the others did as the DNC asked and had their names removed

In Florida NO ONE was allowed to campaign, but Hillary made sure she had a few fund raising events in Florida the week of the vote

If the DNC wants to seat the delegates for those two states they should schedule caucuses as soon as possible, before Hillary tries to go to court for the delegates from Florida and Michigan

Well he did not "DROP" out he only put his campaign on hold so he still keeps them unless he "drops" out.

She wasn't the only that received votes in Michigan, although I didn't see Obama's name there so I wouldn't count Michigan's Delegates. It's funny to see that many people were undecided. In that case, I'm sure Obama could have won Michigan if it ran again. Florida on the otherhand, moved up their contest before Super Tuesday so it shouldn't count either. But unlike what you said, nobody actively campaigned in Florida. "But the supporters of Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama worked hard to get their voters to the polls to make a symboic show of strength." And from what I read, so did Edwards' supporters.

Clinton Wins in Florida, but Without Any Delegates to Sweeten the Victory

According to this site, Hillary would have only had about 40 more FL delegates than Obama anyway. So, it may not even matter. Link: Florida Democratic Delegation 2008

Florida Dems eager to vote despite candidates' boycott

Under the radar, however, there's activity. Earlier this week, Obama's campaign questioned whether two fundraisers that Clinton has scheduled for Jan. 27 in south Florida might turn into full-fledged campaign appearances. Democratic candidates are permitted to raise money in Florida, but not to stump there. All the Democrats have held fundraisers in the state.

I just don't get why these states moved up their contests before the date specified. I'm sure they were aware that if they did, the delegates woudn't count. I can think of reasons why a state may do that but to sacrifice the delegates, I just don't understand. I guess they didn't want to listen.

Well he did not "DROP" out he only put his campaign on hold so he still keeps them unless he "drops" out.

I knew he didn't drop out but I was saying what happens if he does decide to drop out and whether his delegates could go to another candidate of his choosing or if they are up for grabs at the RNC.

... I'm just glad that baseball is around the corner ...

I'd be in favor of North Carolina moving their vote up, even if we lost delegates. Just because it would give a big F-you to the system.

As it is, we vote in May...essentially after the contest has been decided.

This is for all the people who said that Obama was a nice thought but couldn't win it, that only Clinton could. The poll is both a blessing and a curse, in a way, because on one hand it shows stronger support for Obama, but if Clinton becomes the nominee I'd still want her to beat McCain.

I think some Obama supporters are overly harsh on Clinton - obviously I don't support her as much as Obama and I agree with Obama's views overall more than her, if she becomes the nominee, I'd vote for her in a heartbeat because not only is she a democrat, but not as bad as some non-supporters make her out to be. A democrat in the white house is what really counts.

If Hilary get the cadidacy for the democrats, I probably won't vote in this presidential election. If she gets the candidacy and I DO vote, it will likely be a third party candidate.

If it was an option, I would say amend the constitution and allow Arnold Schwarzenegger to run. Its not so I voted for Obama.

I'm still hoping for the Governator to become the Presinator come 2012 though.

Oh, you've got to be kidding me. That would be absolutely disgusting. How about actually thinking about Schwarzenfiaoijefskf's POLITICS, rather than his weight lifting? Especially since Obama's politics are drastically different than "Arnold's." I'm fine with you voting for Obama, but if you really care about the candidate's actual VIEWS and POLITICS, and you support generally most of what Obama supports, if it was anybody else with the same political views, you wouldn't be voting for him.

Sully, do you normally lean towards the democratic candidate? If you do, that's exactly the kind of thing that I hate people saying, that just because Hillary isn't Obama means that you shouldn't vote for her. Yes, Obama would be infinitely better, but it's time to be united to overthrow the republicans from the White House, not be as picky about the precise candidate.

You sure are in to this partisan thing...

I just vote for whoever believes the closest to what I believe, Democrat or Republican. Most of the time it winds up being a Republican, but I have voted for some Democrats, too.

Anyways, why do you want the Republicans out of the White House so badly, abc? There are some conservatives and Republicans who believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights and are, in general, smart people--unlike Bush. But, Obama has never heard of the Second Amendment, so what can you say?

While allowing a foreigner to be president would be a disgrace, he'd definitely cut funding on the pork-barrel "SkyNet" project.
