fush12
hey guys I am in need of a new TV and want to get a 1080P tv...i am currenty looking at 2 tvs and I want some input on them from someone else. The first one is an LG. It looks really nice but I just don't know about much about LG's. http://us.lge.com/products/model/detail/tv...l__42LB5D.jhtml The 2nd one is a Sony Bravia which I LOVE!!! The picture is awesome. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...ll+Size%7C40+in. Let me know what you guys think of the 2. Are LG's good or is it Sony that I want to go after?? Thanks for the help.
seanzarelli
Both are really good and I've seen the picture on both so I know why you are looking at them. The only thing about 1080p that I've heard is that if you watch fast paced sports, you'll get more blur than a 720, but I've only heard that, so don't take my word for being true. I own a 32" LG 720P and I've been really happy with it. I'd just go for whichever one has the best price.
AstroEric
For the purposes of hijacking this thread...my wife and I are buying our first house next year, and I've already been promised a big screen, HDTV. Lately, however, I've been pondering projectors. Any thoughts on what would be best for a home theatrical experience?
LADodgers
my dad recently bought the LG 42" LCD and its a great tv. picture is nice and its great for playing video games. but i did read a consumers report magazine that said if your looking for a LCD tv a sony bravia was a top choice

JP_Frost
For the purposes of hijacking this thread...my wife and I are buying our first house next year, and I've already been promised a big screen, HDTV. Lately, however, I've been pondering projectors. Any thoughts on what would be best for a home theatrical experience? congrats! A friend of mine has a projector with a big screen, and he uses it solely for watching dvd's. It's very cool experience, but because everything is enlarged the picture quality is as good as would be on a TV screen. Another thing is the cost. Those projector lenses only last a certain amount of hours (though it's quite a few), but when something breaks, you're better off just buying a new projector because supposedly repair costs are insane. If you have money to spare and you're able to buy some real top notch projector and screen, then it might be worth it. Otherwise I'd stick with a good TV and surround audio system. aguilafan2k5
In my opinion I would go with the Sony, but I maybe bias as I have a 46" Bravia. The picture quality is phenomenal.

RaysFTW
Those two tv's are beasts. You'll be running MLB 2k8 or The Show at 1080p.
FordoBaggins
For that price I would go with a Sharp Aquos. Best picture by far for the money.
