I have not touched the discs in 2 and a half years becuase i made Iso images of the game becuase back then i had a crappy pc and it was a pain having to constantly go to cd for info. Anyways auction says it all. I love how people sell there games at a steep price and mention this site just so they can make that quick buck and sell there game for the huge profit. I mention mvp 08 and the website so buyers know they can come here. Hereby spreading word and then maybe others can try and get their own mvp. What i see here is just a case of combative forum people =/. Big rog, you say people getting MVP illegally will stop this....stop what? Spreading word of this site so others know about it? If people didn't know of this site, then they would just say "ohh this is an old game, its not worth that much." By saying that you can update the game to brand new, then thats gonna make people want to buy it. Do you know how many people jsut come to this site and rape the downloads, not contributing to any forums posts or mods themselves. It just drags down the speed of the site a lot when so many members are online. Once 08 goes up (if it still goes up IDK) the site will be slow as hell because everyone will be downloading it. Ie school, lack of knowledge in modding, work, lack of time. Is it so wrong for them to come here and download a free update that is made for the enjoyment of the game? Secondly even if i didnt mention this site then people who join here looking for this game would just go to ebay and find my auction. So to say I am using this site to try and turn a profit is beyond me. If youd rather not garner exposure then fine. I found out about the 07 mod from a guy in a forum a year a go selling his mvp discs and came here and fired my old game back up. Not to mention a good handful of my friends have come here and enjoy this game now. If anything it is more about the enjoyment of the game and spread of knowledge. That impression is 100% incorrect. You do not need to make one single post in this forum to download and enjoy the mods posted here. There's over 50,000 members registered here and I can tell you now there is a whole lot of them that are just here for the downloads. A lot of them lurk in the forums and never post. Just so you know, Roger is kind of a big wheel around here, so if he says that you have to have a ridiculously high post count and make one portrait to be considered a contributor, then I'm afraid that's the rule. Heh. Well yank said i was 100% incorrect about my assessment, although big rig condemned "leeches", so i feel like one since i have only less than 50 posts and have no modding knowledge. Although i feel telling people and actively installing mods on friends computers and signing them up here is help. And just to further clarify. When i started my auction, i started high becuase i even saw the people here were getting high money, even saying things like "ill include such and such if it goes by this price", So i never intended to use the mod site as a selling point. Mainly its scarcity and its value in previous auctions. MVPmods and mvp 08 were only mentioned to give the buyer knowledge of this place if he had not already had it. I know id be greatful to have such news if i had not known it. The same way i was greatful about the guy who posted in his forum jounral about 07 and got me to come back here. You've already helped as far as I'm concerned. You told your friends about this site, so that might have made them sign up for themselves. And when you installed the mods for them you showed them how easy it is to install this stuff and how good it looks in the game. And you never know who signs up next that is going to make a pretty good contribution to the website. Let me try to give you an example of what I mean. Take a look at this mod that has just been released. It's the Johan Santana portrait by DudleyDoWright. Well, this guy hasn't even been a member here a year yet (joined 6-29-07) and he's contributed a pretty good mod for the Mets fans here. So you never know who you can get interested in this site that will make mods or become someone that can help the others with their game problems. If im correct about the one portrait being in it, Its an accomplishment that im proud of. I'm not bragging about it. Don't worry about it. You are being baited right now. Best bet is to let it go or else it won't stop. Believe me, I know. Look at it this way BigRog.
