KidCavalier23
Okay, so I was giving a project for the week that I have to create a poster about a country of our choice. I chose the United States. So now, I need a creative idea on how to do this. I was thinking, maybe I could do something baseball related. But as some of the people on this board know, I do not have a creative bone in my body. Any ideas will help out a lot. Thanks! :)
Totte
A project in school or what?
KidCavalier23
Yeah its for school. I was thinking of like drawing a map of the US and then putting one big thing about the state inside of it. I think I would be more interested in the project if it had something to do with baseball. rookie_rick
Why don't you do something along the line of history in baseball or do the history of the Yankees. (Going on your sig and avatar that your a Yankee fan )
KidCavalier23
Hmmmm, I like that idea Rick, thanks! I'll try it out and see what I can whip out in photoshop
rookie_rick
You gonna be keeping us updated with how it comes along because i personally would like to see how you present your final choice of subject :)

Instead of photoshop, I am going to make the poster out of all the Yankee things that I have left out of my collections(Extra pins, medallions, pocket schedules, newspaper clippings, magazine picture, etc.). I really like the idea Rick and I thank you a lot.

Here's another suggestion - What if you had a map of all 50 states and you list one Yankee player, manager, etc. (with a photo) who was born or grew up in that state or currently lives in that state? KidCavalier23
I like that idea also, but thats way too much research for me to do, considering I'm going to be in New York City all day on Thursday (Hard Rock Cafe baby!). Nice suggestion though Jim, maybe if I get some free time over the vacation, I will put something like that together and hang it up in my room.
KidCavalier23
I am going to use this as one of the main components to my poster. What do you guys think? I was working with the blue lighting in Photoshop the other day, and then I was given this project. I think it would be a good addition.
redsox
What about something like this? Maybe expand on this idea a little more. http://www.unitedcountriesofbaseball.com/i...OB-1280x960.jpg

Mav3rek
IMO, that looks more like a "Yankees Rock" poster rather than one about the United States.
KidCavalier23
Well, the theme is going to be like "America's Pastime' Greatest Team". I'm debating on using redsox idea, then adding some other things onto it. I'll be working with some things today after I come back from the gym. KidCavalier23
I've decided to scratch out the Yankee poster for now, and use the pitcure redsox has included above. I will be including certain players, an alternative logo for each team, color variations, and lighting effects to give it a new look. I just got to find out where I could print this out, I don't think my printer will be able to print out a 36x24 document.
angryrat
Get ready to spend some money. You could do it at Kinkos or Staples. in my experiences, Staples prints much, much nicer than Kinkos, and Staples uses RGB not CMYK printing... so it will match your work on screen better. I did an 18x24 laminated poster from Staples for around $25 Printing a 36 x whatever, will cost you more. You will probably have to pay per sq. ft. that you are printing. My guess, around $5 sq. ft. And Staples/Kinkos may not print that large. You should really find a printer before you start working that large to make sure you are going to be able to print it. Wolf Camera ( I dont know if that's a national chain or not) does large size printing... very expensively.
